I work tomorrow and Wednesday, but it will be slow.. plus I have Thurs-Sunday to study ALL DAY everyday. What would you all say is the best use of my available time before my test next Monday?

I just finished a second practice exam and scored 79% overall (82% on sims and 78% on MCQ). This is up from my ~60ish% a couple weeks ago so I’m happy.. but would prefer my practice exams to be in high 80s or so.

Should I just hit the MCQs hard and re-read key points in each chapter of my book? Go through sims? So much material to cover, just was wondeirng what you all think would be most beneficial.

    Thanks!

Audit MCQs are typically pretty quick. You probably have enough time to redo them all (not to go crazy though; just to refresh); read ninja notes and do aicpa released questions.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

I just took AUD yesterday. I'm pretty confident I passed with a solid score but could be totally wrong.

If you have the Wiley textbook, I only did MCQ's from Module 2 through 6 in my last week before the exam. If you are not using Wiley, these modules cover the entire audit from Engagement Planning to Reporting and SSARS (Compilations and Reviews). Everything else I completely ignored (but already studied in the week before).

In total this was about 650 MCQ's that I did 3 times in a row from Monday-Sun before the exam. For each problem, I made sure I knew why the correct answer was correct and why the incorrect answers were incorrect. I did not do any sims… in fact I never practiced any sims for any of the sections I've passed. I just relied on the authoritative literature and the knowledge I gained from doing MCQ's.

On Sunday night/Monday morning (My exam was at 1:30PM), I did the MCQ's for Module 1 (Professional Responsibilities) and Module 7 (Sampling) and once again completely ignored Auditing with Technology.

And that's it. In summary I just did a buttload of MCQ's for what I felt would be the bulk of the exam. I completely skipped Technology and all I'm going to say is that I don't regret it.

Last things – I work full-time, probably did the first round of MCQ's Mon-Fri and the second and third round on Saturday and Sunday. In total I probably studied 10 days, 35 hours with 20 of those hours in my last weekend. It also probably helped that I already passed the other 3 sections of the exams, meaning that I was able to grasp the concepts a little bit quicker.

    BEC - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    REG - Pass
    AUD - Pass

You're amazing runhomejack. I'm also very weak on technology. I guess, I'll keeping going through MCQs to get some idea about it cause I don't feel comfortable if I skip any parts for the exam ><“.

@Tina82- Great idea, glad you mentioned the AICPA released questions.. almost forgot those are out there!!!

@Runhomejack- I have the Wiley online testbank and books… The testbank has about ~1000 questions so I'm for sure going to run through all of them. Sounds like you nailed AUD and looks like you will be done! Hope thats the case and best of luck!

I'm also taking AUD next week, but I am taking a slightly different approach. I am hammering away on the “required” Yaeger MCQs and trying to do my best Gary impression in my head as I re-explain to myself why I am correct. My theory is that Yaeger knows the most important concepts and as long as I know (really know) the concepts I should be fine. In addition, I also try to do at least 90 Wiley test bank questions per day – same Gary impression as I read the question. For whatever reason it seems to help me… I took the CIA exam about a year ago and passed all 4 parts by doing an impression of my IA Director in my head while studying and taking the exam…

I do the Wiley simulations here and there… I try to keep a running log of areas that I am softer in and either rewatch the lecture or study the answers in the book etc. This is the rough equivilent of what I did for FAR in July and I passed. Hoping for the best next week! Good luck to all!!
