I am taking AUD for the third time on 5/31 & I wanted the boards feedback on how to effectively use the time and slay this beast. The last time I took it end of Feb I got a 70, and before that in Nov with a 67.

What should my gameplan be as far as notes & mcq go. I have the 10 point package with 2012 AUD becker.

it took me five tries before passed Audit. I scored a 50, 58, 70, 72, then finally an 89. With audit you need to understand the theory. There are a lot of questions that seem like there are two correct answers so you need to make sure you are reading very carefullys . I read all the answer explanations to make sure I understood why each one was right or wrong. They will throw in one word into an answer that will make it wrong even though it seems right.

Make sure to know the different opinions and why each is used. There is a chart in becker that you need to know with all that on there, and I added the differences on the reports to the chart. Know the audit risk model and understand what causes the components to increase or decrease. You can answer a lot of questions know the ins and outs of that.

Are you feeling like it is the sims that you are having trouble with or is it the questions? I studied tons of questions. I also read over all the sims in my wiley book and becker software. Are you utilizing the authoritative literature?

For my final exam I used the ninja audio daily in my car. I also rewrote my ninja notes. This was the first time I rewrote them and it definitely helped. I also would read my ninja notes while listening to the audio and add a few notes on points that Jeff would make on the audio that were not on the notes.

You will get this, just don't give up!

I dunno about any 10 point plan, but here's my advice. Do this the next 2 – 2.5 weeks:

1. Day 1 – Read the mnemonics, formulas, examples, & passkeys 3-4+ times for A1.

2. Day 2 – Do 100-200+ A1 mcqs. Complete ~1-5 A1 sims or just read the problems and answers so you know what to look for.

3. Repeat for each chapter till you're done.

Final week or 3-4 days before the exam:

1. Read the mnemonics, formulas, & passkeys from the textbook for all or half of the chapters every day; focusing more on what you're weaker. Maybe look at the examples too if you have time.

2. Do ~50 random mcqs per day. Maybe less or none at all.

@rbcpa, have you used the AL on the AUD SIMSs on your past attempts? Even though I didn't pass my first attempt with AUD (the MCQs are what killed me. So tricky!), I found at least 3 of the 7 word-for-word in the AL (not including the 2 research questions I got). You just have to leave yourself enough time to be able to search.

FAR: 65, 77!
AUD: 72, 72, 80!
REG: 64, 84!
BEC: 83!
Ethics: 98!

This may sound looney…but for AUD because the MC answers are often times one word different from each other as a way to get myself to slow down instead of reading the answers from A to D I read them from D to A.

For what ever reason it forced me to slow down and really read all the answers before I picked one. I think it really helped me not jump on the first answer that seemed right.

Also…utilize the AL for your sims.

I definitely used the AL but it only helped me with 2/7 .. I think I will try to drill the wiley Sims because becker doesnt do justice to the actual ones.
