3 days until AUD…need last minute advice…

    I’ve been through all the Becker questions one time. I am currently retyping all my notes from those questions. Should I start doing Wiley questions or go back through Becker. I’m thinking Wiley cause I can do mini quizes of 20 MCQs and a few simulations. I would probably do these for the next 3 days. Or do I go back through Becker questions again?

    It’s not that big of a deal either way, but was just curious of another opinion.

    I’m also reading the “Final Review” AUD book each morning as supplement to the MCQs. Not sure if that factors in on the advice.

    I took audit today. My advice would be to do as much practice MCQ as you can. If you feel like you have mastered the Becker ones, use Wiley. I didn't feel like there were any surprises on the MCQ. For the SIMS, get familiar with the research tool if you haven't already.

    For the research tab, you mean utilizing it for all the SIMS?

    Ya. I found it to be really helpful for mostly all the SIMS. I feel like the SIMS are much too detailed and it's necessary to use the research to answer it. (It's the same way for REG when you take that. Not so much for FAR.)

    Gotcha. I tried using the codification for one of my FAR sims, but it didn't help.

    I haven't mastered the Becker MCQs really. I scored 70% or above in some of the sections and 50 – 60% in others. But overall I noticed the AUD questions can be solved by some common sense it seems. Not too sure that I can get through all the Becker MCQs in 3 days since I will be technically working. I plan on shutting my door on Mon and Tues, but no guarantee that people won't knock or call.

    jjm I think you are right on task! I am also right there with you! I plan on just sticking with Becker and CPAforfree questions… I will start reviewing hardcore tomorrow!! The hardest part for me is probably A4 the CYCLES! Good luck! Wonder is AshleyCap decided to reschedule or not?

    I haven't seen her posting much which leads me to believe that she is enjoying the holidays stress free with no studies. Good luck with the studying tomorrow. let me know how it goes. I'm losing confidence as 11/30 draws near. I am nowhere near ready at this point.

    hi JJM & Jenuno01 I have rescheduled to Jan 3rd – I wish you guys all the luck on the 30th! will be watching for how your test was. I am still studying just not as hardcore as I was before. There was no way I was going to get through all of the work and reviewing in time.

    JJM I would say just do as many MCQ's as you can and not worry about typing up your notes. It's probably too close to your exam date to do that. Just review your notes and pound out those MCQ's! I'm sure you're going to be fine.

    Jenuno01 I am on A3 now (the MCQ's I've watched all the lectures and taken notes) definitely not looking forward to A4! Good luck to you!

    There you are! I think you're right about retyping the notes. I spent about an hour so far and probably have atleast another few hours of typing. I started the Wiley test bank just now. Two 20 MCQ quizes…not good. 45% and 65%. Yikes. I have some work to do. I'm sure I'll be posting like crazy as the 11/30 gets closer. Good luck on A3. If I fail, I plan on scheduling around the same time so we may be in the same boat again. 🙂

    you'll be fine! Although it is nice having you in the same boat as me I don't want you to have to reschedule so just keep hammering out those MCQ's!

    Probably a good decision Ashley! AUD is kind of a beast, but then again which section isn't? There is a lot if information to know! A lot of memorization and critical thinking! I am doing MCQs like crazy and just reviewing at this point! If I fail as well, we'll be on the same boat too! LOL

    @jjm1181- and others,

    I never tried Becker (I am working with Wiley, Lambers and cpareviewfor free). Do you feel that Wiley is harder than Becker, by any chance ?

    I agree with the other post. I would add Wiley to the mix. I think it is always a good idea to incorporate different testbanks, that way you don't inadvertendly start memorizing the questions, or get too used to the format. cpareviewforfree is good also.

    I just took Audit on Wednesday. I used Wiley, Becker, and the Roger cram. I would say continue to do mcq's until your eyes bleed! The sims are hard to practice for. To me, I think the sims are about taking what you have learned and applying it in a way you haven't seen, so you really need to understand the concepts well. For me, the sims were tough. On one, I coudln't really tell what they were asking me to do, one was just out there and the rest were so-so.

    know some of the key words in an audit report v. review v. compilation

    know about prospective FS (the one that is appropriate for public use v.the one only appropriate for limited use)

    audit sampling – understand relationships (direct/inverse) between the different things

    things like that…

    I'm working on Becker MQCs 2nd time before going to the exam room 11/29. Haven't done any SIM yet. Are they important? Hic! Not that I have much time left to work on the SIMs, but would feel less worried if they aren't.

    I haven't done any sims either. Since my test is on Wednesday, I'm going to spend a few hours Tuesday night becoming familiar with the Research tool and sims. For FAR, I didn't practice too many sims. I just made sure I was confident in the concepts and had a general idea of what I could expect from the sims.
