What trending number should I shoot for on MCQs. Currently at 78 but that included a 60 in my stickiest subjects. Trying to keep motivated. I'm on day 6 of review and my exam is Friday. This was way too long. Oh well, live and learn, and don't do it again.

@jsdailey – Jeff recommends above 80 for the average trending score, but I think you should be fine with 75+. Here is how the average trending score is calculated if you're wondering:

@Isabelle – thanks for the list!

@Allsheneededwassome Thank you! I think I might be crazy, but I am currently not working and study all day. If I don't pass I will be so bummed! Good luck to you as well!

    @Big4BeanCounter Thanks!
I'm still trying to make sense of my scores though. Besides transaction cycles and a couple of Specific Audit areas, I am missing most of my questions on very unlikely to be tested stuff. Like the things that have 4-10 questions on my test bank because they showed up on that one test that one time.

@jsdailey: Idk what review course you're using by my Becker progress report scores varied anywhere from 60-100%. It just depended on the mix of questions that were thrown at me. Also obv the math I sometimes did them in very small blocks of only 10 MCQs. It was not indicative of my actual passing score. To be honest, I never got to review on most of my attempts for FAR/AUD/REG. The times I made it to the review stage, I ended up passing. I think you're in decent shape. 🙂

    Thanks @allsheneeded.
For that exact reason I do MCQs in sets of 20. What I learned with FAR and it's still true with AUD. There are some questions that if you're not in a good pace, you're going too fast, you'll miss the key detail. I'm doing my very best to make sure and read the question thoroughly. Goal has been to do questions around 45 seconds each. That should leave me with around 3 hours for the Sims. And I'm taking notes off my MCQs trying to make info blips for each questions and starred the ones I got wrong to review Wednesday and Thursday.

@jsdailey, Good luck on your exam this Friday! That sounds like a good strategy. Leaving 3 hours for the SIMS is ideal. On that note, I need to work on improving my pace as well.

Just to give you some perspective…I just started doing NINJA MCQS here and there so still in the Assessment phase, have done about 226 questions; Average is 70 and my Trending is 87. My eye is on the average, need to get it up but I have time so definitely will work on getting that up. Last time, I took the exam my Trending was 78 but Average was 63 and I was in the Assessment phase. Had done 500 questions or so and scored a 64 on the exam. I think NINJA scoring algorithm is right on the money.

My progress update is still on A4. I am going to push back my test probably till the 5/16. Haven't changed it yet. I am so nervous and desperate for a pass that I think its a wiser thing to do. Thoughts anyone?

On the practice AICPA sim can someone tell me why we would have to make an adjustment to inventory for the 10mm widget? If the goods are in consignment as of year end shouldn't they be included in our inventory and not the consignor's?

Ignore – got it, in one of the documents it says it should be moved from the perpetual inventory account to consigned inventory account -____-

    Hello All,

Just took FAR last Thursday. Taking Audit May 31st.

So far so good. Finding out we are the keepers of the truth and are held to standards in order to up-hold public honesty for ethical financial reporting. I put a spin on it to convince myself I am serving a good purpose and that's what I came up with.

    Good luck everyone.

Struggling in “Specific Audit Areas” Cash, AR , liabilities … Any pointers? Exam is Friday.
Also, I took it for granted that the MIPP questions would be common sense and easy points. I feel wrong. I'm struggling with those at like a 76% clip

@jsdailey: I struggled with my MCQ scores changing a lot in between testing. I found when this happened, my self-esteem and fell and my scores kept going down.
During these times, I stepped away from MCQ’s and re-wrote my ninja notes. My notes were combo of Ninja and some Becker stuff I had written into my ninja notes. This helped to take the pressure off the low scores and put stuff in my head that I had forgotten.
I know people say take a break, but I don’t because I think it takes the momentum away.
@big bean: you are so good for this forum and a great cheerleader! I hope you stay here.
@Fam: how are you doing? push it back. I did and it helped , with my confidence
I have been missing my CPA peeps!! Had to do serious marriage damage control – only studying and working makes me a witch. With a capital B. Needed to spend non-study time with the family

@Julia thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I look too far into things like the sample size. I do MCQs in 20 question increments, was getting 70s and 75s all day, Just got a 100 on 20 MCQs. I use Wiley so I am rewriting the flash cards and retaking notes on the areas that feel fuzzy from the Focus Notes. Besides MCQs, I'm hitting high points only from here on out. It's crunch time.
