Well based on that its also not the place to talk about music or cool prizes you may or may not have won.

I do hear what you are saying, I'm just saying that I don't get that mindset. We aren't working against each other- we are all working to pass the test. Someone posting about their success can do just as much for you as someone posting about their failures. We can learn from (and in turn use that to pass the test) everyone. Jeff can correct me if I'm wrong but thats what the site is really about the way I see it.

Lol! Touche with the music comment!

Seriously, I was not trying to come across like an a-hole, which I think I may have. I was truly just trying to answer your question. I've seen a lot of people get upset when people brag about passing quickly, with little studying, etc. I guess I shouldn't have spoken for the group, but for myself. But that's why I think people might get upset. I know it's why I would.

And you're right – we are here to learn from each other. And this forum is for more reasons than 1.

I wish I had the ability to pass with only a few hours or days of studying. That is truly a gift from God. Congratulations

    Thank you Destiny.

Thank you to all the people who have been kind on here.

To those who have been getting pissed off. I wish you the very best on your next exam, whichever and whenever that is. If you're going to get that angry over a forum about CPA exam test scores, I really don't know what to tell you.

To the OP, congrats on passing on such a short amount of time…that is incredible. I saw some of your past postings, and it seems like you don't require much studying in order to pass!

However, I have to say, I'm very jealous and somewhat mad (not at you). There are so many people here who work their butt off (Keeptrying, Peanut, Kricket, Jomarie, to name a few) and work so hard to pass (keeptrying is finally done) and yet fall short. It's not fair, AT ALL. I wish I could lazy around for months and end up cramming everything two days before the exam and still pass.

OP isn't the only one who has been able to pass with minimal studying, and he won't be the last. They all have right to brag and be happy. I would be jumping off joy if I could pull that off, HOWEVER, it's just not fair to others who are working so hard.

My point is people have right to be happy/brag/etc…but don't give off an impression that passing these exams with minimal studying is possible. It's not, otherwise passing rates wouldn't be so low. It's purely luck (IMO) and majority of us aren't lucky. It's nice to see people passing and it encourages others that this is possible, but anyone starting this process should know that it requires hard work & dedications.

OP, Good Luck with REG, I'm sure you'll do well:!)

Sorry, I don't believe this. An 82 with just 2 days of studying? Yeah, right!!

It's every bit as possible as studying for 200 hours and ending up with a 59 I imagine. Freakish and frankly I'd go buy a lottery ticket (and if he wins my ipad3 I'll beat him with my old Wiley book)

Either way I'd bet there's a lot more bs on here than this post 😉

Everyone has things they are better at. For me I love things that have math/reason behind them… I can understand those concepts. I struggle remembering things that have to do with Regulations/laws etc. That will be my weak area.

the OP said he worked in auditing for a year now. Its not shocking to assume that he would know a whole $hitton more about auditing that I would.

And while I don't mean to offend anyone here- these tests are not luck. Really NO test for which you know the basic content to be tested and have time to review for is. You are either prepared or you are not; if you fail its not because you were unlucky- its because you didn't know enough. Maybe its because you were lazy and didn't really study. Maybe its because you thought you understood the concepts but really didnt. Maybe its because you chose a review program that wasn't right for you. It can be any number of things, but instead of saying “its the luck of the draw” or “you got unlucky” you are better off figuring out what went wrong and address that. I feel terrible for people that fail and don't know why, because its hard to chase after an issue you can't identify. But some honest self-reflection goes a long way in overcoming failures.

You say that bragging “cheapens” the efforts of others that work hard and fail, but the flipside of that is saying that people only pass because they are “lucky” is like a kick in the face to people that did pass.

Sandra much of it depends on luck in that some areas are tested more heavily than others. If you've ever retaken the same section you know how vastly different it is from one window to the next. CB may have passed this question set with 2 days study but may have failed AUD in the next window with 100 hours study time. Fact is he got questions that were familiar to him, which is good that he knows what he does but also luck that those particular set of questions are what he got.

LOL, I think I was “lucky” that I passed all 4 parts. Looking back, I don't know how I was able to do it and I honestly don't think I'll be able to do it again.

I guess I can believe the OP since he had 1 year of auditing experience. But still, this thread is pointless and does nothing but upset people like Peanut who worked extremely hard and still cannot pass this beast. People like her feel really down at the moment and seeing a thread like this will only make it worse. Personally, I think it would be wiser for the OP to actually give constructive advice to those who are currently struggling since he's so good at this and was able to pass with just 8 hours of studying.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if I were in the position where I'm struggling with AUD, I'd feel suicidal reading a thread like this.

    Just saying.

Let me clarify, I said passing without studying (or minimal studying) is luck. Even people who have passed without studying will tell you, “I got lucky,” because most people know how hard these exams are. All I'm saying is, it requires lot of hard work…and the harder you work, luckier you get:)

For what it's worth, I scored “weaker” on MCQ's and “stronger” on the sims, which makes sense considering I do auditing for a living, but didn't know all the random facts and crap they want to ask about in the MCQ's.

It wasn't luck MLA. I took a Wiley practice test before I had ever cracked the review book and scored a 75%. You don't do well on Sims by luck. I finished the test at the prometric center in less than an hour and a half. I knew what I was doing.

I think that most people screw themselves up when they take these kinds of test. People get so dang nervous and stressed out that they really don't get their best effort in the testing center. Just go in, sit down, read each question and go with your first gut instinct. Don't over think the questions, don't go back and change your answer later, and definitely do not stress while you're in there. If you are prepared, trust your instinct.

I really do feel for the people that study for hours and hours and hours and ruin their social lives to get ready for this test only to not get that 75. It sucks. Just because you don't see how somebody else could do something doesn't mean that it isn't possible or that it is just luck. Some people are naturally great athletes. Others are naturally great musicians or artists. Some people can just absorb a ton of information in a short amount of time and regurgitate it onto a test.

Chris if you are saying luck doesn't play into it at all are you saying that you deserved the 56 on REG?

I'm glad you're consistent but I feel strongly that a good deal of luck played into each of my passes.
