    I took REG a few weeks ago and I had 2 research questions. Just today I took AUD and also had 2 research questions. Is this the new norm now, having 2 research questions in an exam?

    If you have two research questions, one of them is your pretest question.

    This is kind of old but I think it's possible to have two graded research questions, especially since it's becoming so common… https://cpanet.com/cpa_forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=39139&PN=1

    FAR - 70, 83
    REG - 82
    BEC - 78
    AUD - 76

    Interesting! The buzz I've seen around this forum has always been that one is a pretest. Good to know.

    Having two means nothing more than you got two research questions. It doesn't mean that one is pretest and it doesn't mean you failed. The Sims are predetermined the day you get your NTS because they aren't adaptive like the MCQ's. Don't stress over it. There are too many other things to stress about with this exam!

    I have taken 6 exams now and had 2 research for my Auditing exam I took in April. Otherwise, just one. I don't see how one should automatically be considered a pre-test. This is a very poor decision maker! You think the AICPA would REALLY let that slide? They are heartless.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

    I took REG at the beginning of last month, and I had 2 research questions as well. The other 4 sims were terribly hard. I personally think that the research questions are both graded.

    I took FAR Aug 10th, only one research question.

    "Not all those who wander are lost."

    FAR: I slayed the Dragon!
    BEC: I defeated the Siren!
    AUD: I eliminated Medusa!
    REG: ?????

    If they are both graded, then I got jipped because I only got 1 research ! and the other 5 sims were all hard for reg. I feel like the research sims are easy points.

    BEC - 84, 4/6/13
    AUD - 77, 5/28/13
    REG - 83, 4/12/14

    Having two doesn't automatically mean one is a pretest and it doesn't automatically mean both are graded. If you only have one, great. You know it counts. But if you have two, DON'T assume one is a pre-test. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Every test is different so no one knows.

    @calicpa

    If it makes you feel any better, I got a 47 on REG, so having 2 research questions didn't really help that much lol.

    @Freyer002

    Same here lol. Fingers crossed.

    So if I read the info in the link correclty, getting the rigt answer on the research sim gets you as many points as if you got all the answers right on a sim with a lot of complicated parts…?

    @calicpa – I'm not sure. This isn't 100% clear to me, so if I'm reading it wrong I hope someone corrects me.
