I took my first audit exam in October and wound up with a 65. The multiple choice I know I struggled with but I am surprised at what the aicpa said my performance was on the sims. I remember thinking to myself during the test that I got lucky with the sims because I thought they were not difficult and I found one sim word for word in the AL and used the AL to help me find the research answer and two others and the other two were simple sims that I definitely knew. Yet the aicpa said my performance on the sims was weaker. I figured the worst I did on those sims was going to be comparable because I found most of what I needed in the AL and had two others that I definitely knew the answers to. I just don’t understand how that could be unless everyone that took the exam got full credit on the sims except for me.

Don't pay much attention to the score report, I have found it to mean little to nothing, it only compares you to people who scored between 75-80, and it doesn't tell you which sim was tossed out, if you got partcial credit. Ignore it and get ready to kick this exams ass during your retake!

The score reports to my knowledge vary by state, I only get one if I fail, some states get them no matter what and maybe some states you don't get them at all.

A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

@geech – I think if you faill they send you a letter with some details. Hopefully I won't find out for sure. 🙂

It just doesn't make sense. How could I have gotten weaker when I found most of the answers and guidance in the rest of what I needed in the AL? It really makes me wonder how they grade this thing.

Maybe you scored weaker compared to others because everyone else found the sim in the AL as well? Or maybe that was the pretest sim that was thrown out. Who knows, but sorry to hear that.
