Just wondering for any of you that passed, if you have any tips on how to get the most out of Becker for the AUD exam?

Do MC relentlessly. I did about 50 Progress tests, each composed of 30 quesitons. (included all chapters). If you're using Becker, many questions were similar and some were almost word for word out of Becker.

I ended up acing MC but bombing sims, ended up with a 77.

I am in the same boat. AUD is the last one for me.

It can get tricky with AUD because if you do the Becker MCs too much, you'll just start to memorize the answers. If that starts to happen for you, make sure you understand the conceptual reason behind why an answer is correct.

The examiners love to word things in confusing ways on the exam, so make sure you read the question and each option carefully before choosing an answer.

I agree with @Club300 though. Becker prepares you really well for the MCs. I've never felt totally prepared for the sims by using Becker alone, but practice your MCs.

    AUD 79 (7/14)
    FAR 78 (7/14)
    REG 78 (8/14)
    BEC 81 (10/14)

Print out the reports and flowcharts.

cbones I personally think becker did a good job with the MCQ practice. I would maybe purchase ninja if you want some extra help with more SIMS (the SIMS were the hardest part IMO but I had not taken FAR before. I think you should be fine.)

    AUD - 73,91
    FAR - 79 - Thank you God!
    BEC - 73,79!!!!
    REG - 92 whatttt??!

I used Becker review + flashcards, Ninja Audio, Ninja MCQ supplement on BEC and REG.

    Done! Praise God!

That's where I am running into trouble – I think I am memorizing Becker answers. Scored a 73 for the second time on REG while scoring high (90's) on the Becker tests.

Agree with everyone here. Read the question twice and make sure you know exactly what you are being asked before searching for an answer.

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78

    Licensed in Ohio.

Now what the hell do I do?

To pass AUD you need to RTMFQ and RATMFA!! AUD is tricky with the wording. Read carefully.

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!

I mentioned this in another AUD thread, but can anyone confirm what info. on the engagement letter and various reports are in the simulation research tab?

Because I think it's unnecessary to memorize the reports verbatim. What's more important is to remember some key phrases. Plus for MCQ focus more on logical stuff like how the report changes if there's a modification in the opinion, or what DOESN'T make sense (e.g. you wouldn't follow PCAOB standards for a nonissuer audit).

A lot of the audit MCQ was more of a matter of what answers are WRONG, than what answer is right.

Edit: Also, I didn't pass AUD, just took it yesterday, lol. So I might be giving you horrible info.

    I'm in the same place.

I do sets of 1000 questions.

I pick 1 at random from every 50, If I recognize it I skip it. Just make sure to mark on a piece of paper which ones you did.

But most important…I cover the answers to arrive at an independent solution that I say under my breath.

    Separate question:

How do you review the gray boxes “PCAOB Standards Guidance of issuers”?

Akvod–you nailed it! It really does focus more on which answers are wrong instead of which one is right.

    Thanks lauren

REG sims seemed harder than FAR's. I have to get back in the sim of things…

    Here is Tim Gearty's response

“Qualified is still the correct term for GAAP or GAAS problems….Good luck!”

So a modified opinion describes either a qualified or adverse.
