Ok, so I didn’t want my NTS to just expire so I went and just took the test to feel it out. I’m about halfway through my very detailed study regiment so I knew that I wouldn’t know the answer to all of the questions and surely enough that was confirmed. The test started at medium and it seems like it stayed there. Then the SIMS came and I found everything in the AL. I mean with the exception of a few of them I found the answers word for word. I guess that’s what made me feel like I might have a chance at passing. I felt like this during my FAR passing attempt with the exception of the SIMS part (during that exam I felt like I was reading a foreign language and wanted to leave early). I exited the exam with an hour and a few minutes left on the clock. It was a really strange experience and now I am really confused.

What makes it worse is that I just realized the score release date for my exam date is September 9th! My gut feeling is to keep studying and prepare to take it again at the beginning of the next window.

    Any opinions?

Ok, let's see what happens here. This is my plan. He-he. I'm going to ignore what all of you are saying and keep studying AUD. I've committed so much time to AUD its ridiculous. Literally I'm memorizing everything. My biggest fear is that switching gears to BEC will make me forget everything from AUD and then if I failed I would be really hurting and struggling to re-study AUD.

If I really did fail, then at least I'll be more prepared then before.

If I passed I'll just study for BEC take it at the end of October and if I pass I'll start on REG and take that at the end of February. If it works out I'll be studying the appropriate topic for that part of the year.

I'll repost here again on 9/9. See you guys then and thanks for the advice!

If that is your plan, I would suggest using this time to focus on things from AUD that will be repeated on BEC so that the time is useful both ways. Things like the IT section are tested to some extent on both, so would make the most of the study time.

I got back my score today, and I passed with a 91, by far the highest score I've gotten. And…the whole thing seemed easy, I was finished with 2 hours to spare, etc etc.

@Lilla, Congrats!!! That's awesome…hopefully my feeling will be mutual once Sept 9th rolls around. The thing is I'm a big tech-y and am not worried about IT. If BEC is anything like “auditing with technology” then I feel pretty confident at this point.

@Spur I am sort of in the same boat as you as far as AUD. I took AUD on the 20th. Have to wait for score till the 11th of September. As far as my prediction of my score i'm absolutely clueless. I finished the exam in 3 hours. There was only a few MCQs that I had to mark and wasn't sure about. Overall I thought it was easy…compared to the 3 WTB finals I took, which I got an average of 70s on. Came out with 2 research questions on exam which took me 5 minutes to finish. The other 5 Sims was long and terribly hard, but I tried my best and hope I did ok (didn't know to use AL to assist me in this). It took me an hour to go through the 5 Sims. I think at this point I am on the border of pass/fail if I am guessing right because of Sims. But obviously I won't know till the 9/11. I already scheduled BEC for 10/2 though, so is working on that currently. My gut feeling is I know AUD, not completely obviously, but enough to pass. I did pretty well on everything except evidence during my practice tests so I have a pretty good grasp on almost everything and can find a reasoning for an answer most of the time.

Well, here I am on score release date and my hunch was correct. Fail with a 64. I know MCQ's were my downfall. Will keep chugging along studying and retake during the 2nd week of October.

I know to always trust my gut feeling with these exams. Here we go again.

Good luck and congrats to those that have passed!

@CPAorNot…I'm back and forth trying to decide if I should take Reg after my retake of audit. This will be my 4th time taking AUD. 1st w/ Reg. Why did you decide to do your retake after BEC?

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)
