Took AUD, thought it was easy?, I think I failed. - Page 2

Ok, so I didn’t want my NTS to just expire so I went and just took the test to feel it out. I’m about halfway through my very detailed study regiment so I knew that I wouldn’t know the answer to all of the questions and surely enough that was confirmed. The test started at medium and it seems like it stayed there. Then the SIMS came and I found everything in the AL. I mean with the exception of a few of them I found the answers word for word. I guess that’s what made me feel like I might have a chance at passing. I felt like this during my FAR passing attempt with the exception of the SIMS part (during that exam I felt like I was reading a foreign language and wanted to leave early). I exited the exam with an hour and a few minutes left on the clock. It was a really strange experience and now I am really confused.

What makes it worse is that I just realized the score release date for my exam date is September 9th! My gut feeling is to keep studying and prepare to take it again at the beginning of the next window.

    Any opinions?

    FAR - Bad Fail '11, Fail '12, Fail '13, PASS It's a miracle!
    AUD - Fail, PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC - PASS!!!!!!!!
REG - PASS!!!!!!!! And I'm done!

Well…looks like Peetree's good feeling paid off with this exam! 🙂

I still think you've got a chance at it, Spur. If you understood it, you understood it…and if you understand it, it's not that hard. But, I agree that the wait to get your scores is agonizing and ridiculous!

I had similar feelings about AUD. I completed everything required by Becker, but nothing more. I finished the exam with 1.5 hours left. For the other three I had at most 10 minutes left. I found the majority of the SIMS in the AL. I still feel like I should not have done as well as I did. I think I was expecting AUD to just BE more than it really is. If you felt confident about what they actually asked you on the exam – you should be fine! I just expected to be asked about things at a greater depth. Good luck to you!

    AUD - 99
    BEC - 89
    FAR - 94
    REG - 92

I walked out of Audit with 1.5 hours remaining on the clock feeling like I dominated it. I think with Audit, you either know it or you don't. After a few days passed, I started wondering why my testlets did not get harder. Yes they are going to throw “traps” or “curveballs” at you, but if you know the material – these won't seem like traps and the exam will seem easy overall.

Personally, I think it is foolish to continue studying for an exam that you already took. Until you know the score, leave the Audit books alone.

    B - (08/29/2013) Passed
    A - (07/02/2013) Passed
    R - (10/17/2013) 73 - Rematch
    F - (05/29/2013) Passed

I felt like I did horrible on FAR this past time. I got through all of the Becker material but didn't review and had already started forgetting the first half of the material. I knew I was going to fail. Honestly, the day before, I think I did 30 MCQ's as review and read my notes. I was just so over studying and told myself I'd take the exam and then start studying for a retake. I was just not having it this time. I kind of just wanted a clean start. I took the exam and the whole time I just wanted to get up and leave. I think I had 45 min still left on the clock. I finished my exam and then just peaced. I got a 76.

Two years ago when I took audit, I studied 2 chapters and ended up with a 71. I don't think that was too bad under the circumstances!

But considering this past FAR experience… ANYTHING is possible.

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

Each and every exam is different. I wasted a lot of time in searching how I did on my audit exam based on other people's review, I could not help myself but search because when you leave the testing centre most of the time you are clueless how you did.And the wait for scores is killing.

I would say just put your time in study for next exam I know its difficult.

Till then keep praying and I am sure you gave your best.

FAR- 79 -->Becker self study, Final review & Flashcards
REG -72-->Becker ,76-->Becker plus Wiley test bank
    AUD- 73 Becker,72-->Becker+Wiley,69-->Added ninja notes,89 --> Added Gleim review
BEC- 84 Becker plus Wiley Test bank

    I am Done !!!!

I will attest to the fact that Audit, if you know it, is by far the quickest exam. I finished the MCQs with 2 Hours and 45 minutes and the entire test with 45 minutes left.

Based on your post, I think you passed. Throughout my test, even the “hard” testlets had short easy questions. A lot of it was either you knew it or you didn't. I think you got a lucky draw being able to lean on the AL so much. I had only 1 sim were I could use the AL aside form the research of course. If I was you, I would study for BEC for early in the window and if you fail AUD knock it out in Nov as others have said.

Don't focus on IT it is way to broad to use your time efficiently, my guess i s that the IT questions they'll ask will have little to do with what your studied. Focus on the misc stuff in ch 6, and know all of the formulas. The last thing you want to do is look at a formula question, and not know the formula. Know the matl/labor variances. These are important areas that Becker has great mnemonics for. Know the mnemonics (PHRASED C/ CRIME) for COSO/ERM. Know the flow of the cost accounting process. From buying the matl to the addition of labor/OH. T-Accounts are amazing for this. Know the time value of money inside and out (NPV/IRR).

I would say if you have a strong understanding of the above, you will be in great shape for the test. Don;t worry about the WCs so much as they are usually very straight forward. Know the format of how to answer it though, and that should be sufficient.
