Ok, so I didn’t want my NTS to just expire so I went and just took the test to feel it out. I’m about halfway through my very detailed study regiment so I knew that I wouldn’t know the answer to all of the questions and surely enough that was confirmed. The test started at medium and it seems like it stayed there. Then the SIMS came and I found everything in the AL. I mean with the exception of a few of them I found the answers word for word. I guess that’s what made me feel like I might have a chance at passing. I felt like this during my FAR passing attempt with the exception of the SIMS part (during that exam I felt like I was reading a foreign language and wanted to leave early). I exited the exam with an hour and a few minutes left on the clock. It was a really strange experience and now I am really confused.

What makes it worse is that I just realized the score release date for my exam date is September 9th! My gut feeling is to keep studying and prepare to take it again at the beginning of the next window.

Any opinions?

I'd say study for BEC, take BEC in October, and then re-study for November…cause just think…you could've passed! Yeah, you might feel like the chances are slight, but stranger things have happened. 😉 AUD is one of those things that it seems like it either clicks or it doesn't, so if the concepts clicked for you, you might've passed with ease! And if you passed, but studied from now till Sept 9, you'd waste over 2 weeks of studying. I'd rather plan BEC for the very start of October, and then if need be, you can study for AUD after that…if not, could jump to REG, and possibly potentially even complete the exams this year!

I had a very similar experience with my Audit exam actually (except I made it through my entire study plan), and I wound up with a passing score. I went in feeling prepared, but didn't notice any questions getting lengthier or more intricate in the MCQ testlets. When I got to the SIMS, I was able to find many answers in the AL, with the exception of maybe two TBS. If you think that you understood the big concepts in Audit well, I would move on to BEC, because there is definitely a chance that you passed!

I hope I didn't sound cocky with the title because I really thought FAR gave a run for my money. I'm a grown man I cried when I saw my 75 for that exam. I think this is the part many people dread about these exams the most, the agonizing wait for your score to be released and the confusion on what to study after your exam.

I did go to Mass before the exam, so maybe some angels are looking after me :-).

Well…looks like Peetree's good feeling paid off with this exam! 🙂

I still think you've got a chance at it, Spur. If you understood it, you understood it…and if you understand it, it's not that hard. But, I agree that the wait to get your scores is agonizing and ridiculous!
