Thought you failed AUD, but, passed AUD instead?

    Hi guys,

I sat for AUD yesterday and wow – the MCQ were very tricky and the SIMS were very tricky as well. I didn’t finish 1 and then another half of a SIM. Can I still pass this exam or are my chances diminished? Can anyone share their experience? Would really like to know! Has the opposite also happened where you thought you passed, but, failed instead?

    Thanks!!

I passed AUD the first time I took it. I was 100% sure I failed. So much so I didn't even look up my score for a week after it was out. Then Aud expired so I had to retake it. I didn't prepare as well as I maybe should have but I thought I did really well. I failed though. I took AUD again the end of November and actually walked out thinking I did well. Unfortunately as the score release date gets closer I start thinking more and more that me feeling good may not be a good sign. Unfortunately, I think no one knows for sure when they walk out. That's why everyone looks up their score 987,654,321 times in a day.

I thought I failed audit when I took it. I checked 4 answers after the exam and missed all 4. My last testlet was much easier than the first two testlets. I ended up with an 81

    B 74, 79
    A 62, 81
    R 76
    F 75

    Done!

    @ IndianaCPA,

How were your sims? Did you leave any blank? My issue was I couldn't finish 1 and then another half of another sim. So, I feel like I will fail because of that. Any thoughts?

I thought I failed AUD too. I struggled evidence section with an average of 60% only. Plus on the actual exam, I def did not get the research question correctly. And I didn't realize to use AL on other questions aside from the required research. That pissed me off coming out from prometric. I got worried. And I knew for sure I got only 1 correct entry for a sim. I was surprised I got 79 on my first try.

@ Future Ninja – congrats. How did you feel about MCQ? How many did you flag? How confident were you on the other 7 sims that you know you nailed for sure?

@PasstheCPA7 MCQs were very tricky. I used NinjaMCQ on my final review. That helped me big time, plus Ninja audio and ninja notes every night before I sleep. I practiced mcq per topics and that's what doable in NinjaMCQ. I flagged maybe 7 to 10 items per testlet. I was not confident on the sims because I ended up guessing on the drop downs. I did not get the research question correctly too. I took FAR last November and I have a feeling I failed for the first time. We'll see next week. Good luck to us.

I took audit last month and felt pretty terrible about it. I decided to not begin studying for my next exam just in case I had to retake audit. The mcq's were extremely tricky and I flagged 7-10 in testlet 2 and 3. Sims were okay. One I was completely unsure about. I submitted my exam with 5 seconds left. Several weeks later, I get my score of 95.

Are you studying for your next exam? Good luck on the score release. I would do everything possible to not think about it. Unfortunately, this forum doesn't help with that.

@ dontsleep – wow! I don't seem to understand the fact that people think they bombed it or did terrible on it. Then, they end up killing the exam! You got a 95 – that's impressive. Congrats. What I don't get is how someone thinks they failed miserably to only end up passing with flying colors? It's crazy isn't it?

@passthecpa7 I believe this happens because people know the material well. When they're presented with something they're unsure about it really jumps out at them and they become fixated on those particular questions. Because those questions are unfamiliar they apply that to the test as a whole. In my mind it's kind of like the concept of prejudice.

This was the second exam I took and I was confused about the whole experience. When I took my first one (BEC) I felt like I nailed it and barely passed (76). When I took auditing, I knew the answers were tricky and couldn't tell if I was picking up on the trickiness of the questions or over thinking everything so I was worried. I thought I did well on the sims though, but my state doesn't give score reports if you pass so no way to really know because I passed with an 84. Audit is probably the weirdest exam I've taken on this journey.

    AUD - 84 8/30/14
    REG - 75 10/16/14
    FAR - 87 11/24/14

If you realized the questions were tricky then I would say you passed. It's the dummies that walk out of the exam thinking the exam was ridiculously easy are the ones that failed.

    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

BTW I thought I failed as well. You tend to remember only the negative after the exam. A lot of the confusing questions are pretext in my opinion which partially accounts for people thinking they failed only to pass with a great score.

    FAR- 82
    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

The third time I took AUD I was so shaken up and convinced I failed that I forgot my drivers license at prometric and had to drive back for it. The staff was actually worried about me because I was on the verge of a breakdown. I got home at 4:30pm and started studying for a 4th attempt by 6pm the same day. Spent the next 3 weeks studying and was shocked to see my highest score ever!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75
