    Hey Ninjas,

I took AUD today and noticed an error in one of my simulations supporting documents. The error was regarding the reference of dates for a specific time period. There was a crossing of dates that was realistically impossible. I answered the question as how it were intended to be written, and I’m pretty confident in my answer.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has ever entered an encounter like this or knows anyone who has? Does NASBA follow up with you? Or worst case, does your score get voided?

    Thanks!

What does that response mean for affected candidates

Took test today. Wondering if I should email in but since they are aware, it probably wouldn’t do muchgood.

Fellow AUD test takers, I'm sitting for the exam (hopefully final exam) June 9th, was wondering more about this now that I'm seeing more and more people running into the issue. Based on the original posting, the date of one of the docs is off, so what would be the appropriate way to go about this? assume the date on the document is dated later than it is?

@FK122 I wish we know what they were going to do about this issue to properly answer your question. It’s kind of obvious what they intended to write once you notice the error. I, as well as others, seemed to have answered as if the year were the later year.

    Hi,

No I saw this too – that was intentional I believe. I believe it was a phishing email, basically an improper authorization for that J/E, the test is testing if you can spot the segregation of duty control breaches and count them. Dates would normally make sense and be logical. But in the question, it shows the date of the email being BEFORE the J/E was posting, and then saying that he signed off on the J/E. Well that's impossible because it was a phishing email and he didn't really write it nor did the CFO and controller both sign off because again, it was a fake and hack email, and it was an unauthorized J/E and A/P payment. The real authorization would have been in other supporting documentation and the point of the question is that your'e supposed to perform other alternative procedures to gather more supporting documentation for proper sign-off of the cash disbursement and adjusting J/E.

I had this exact issue with the same simulation. Does this mean they'll give us a guaranteed 75?! What typically happens with something like this? Does the question get thrown out or do we get some free points or…?

If anything they will probably throw the question out. Very doubt it guarantees a 75. Would be great though if it did!

Ya that was mostly a joke… mostly 😉 I'm starting to get incredibly anxious about not passing AUD for the 3rd time after getting a 74 so questions like these are anxiety-inducing!

I saw the error described in my AUD test today, 6/7.

The AICPA is aware of the issue … they have assured me that they hear your concerns loud and clear and they will handle it appropriately.

I need to close the thread due to its propensity for exam disclosure. Remember – you can't discuss the “nature” of your exam.

    Thanks everyone,

    jeff
