Does anyone have an Iowa license? I recently passed the exam and I’m looking forward to getting the IA license. I saw they have certain experiences they are looking in a candidate when they apply for the license but apart from the 2,000 hours needed in work experience within 1-3 years, it does not specify how much time need be spent on any particular experience (e.g. how many times do we have to do budgeting). I’m hoping someone can guide me so I can better work with my manager who has never before had an employee that is going for their license (she has experience with people who already were licensed).

    I do.

Yes it does specify..You need 2000 hours of general experience in any area to get the CPA..and then another 2000 in Audit and attest work separate from that to be fully licensed.

@Adam, can you explain the difference between the 2? I saw there was something along the lines of a separate form needed to be filled for attest qualification. If I were to apply for licensure after gaining 2000 hours of general experience in the areas mentioned, am I not considered a CPA?
