[Determined CPA]

I just received my performance compared to passing candidates and this is how I did:

Understanding engagement – Weaker

Understanding entity – comparable

procedures and evidence – stronger

evaluation and reporting – stronger

accounting and review services – stronger

professional responsibilities – stronger

MCQs overall (60%) – stronger

Sims overall (40%) – weaker

I got a 70 on this test. This is so frustrating!!!! Overall on the MCQs I was Stronger – which is 60%!!! How much weaker was I on the sims to get a failing grade???? now I’m more mad!!!! Has anyone else looked at their performance and think they should have made a 75?

A - 75
B - 78 God is good.
F - 77 Answered prayers.
R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!

I was allocating more and more time to simulations as compared to MCQ's. I realized pretty soon, that simulation will break me, cause they are 40%.

I breezed through the MCQ's and took the gamble, i always had comparable in MCQ's and may be 1 or 2 weaker or stronger….

Yep, this report is useless. I got stronger on everything on REG but got an 83. So, barely stronger than those scoring 75-80 but not strong enough for the highest score. Totally useless report! But its existence proves that they do compare our scores, which makes you wonder….

i think getting a weaker on sims is a killer. i also only got 2 categories on my score report that were weaker and 1 of them was sims. and got a 72.

anyone pass a section while being weaker on sims? or i guess they dont send score reports if you pass?

I'm not sure whether this will help or not, but I think it helped me in the SIMs, notice that the search feature for the Authoritative Literature is available for all sections not just for the research question. Whenever I drew a blank on one questions I went to the authoritative Lit and used keywords to find what the code says about certain sections. I don't think it is cheating because they leave it available. But the problem with this is the time constraint. It worked for me though.
