So my day was interesting and full of anxiety….. I finally get the to the Prometric Center at 12:15 and they don’t let me in and begin my exam until 12:50 and for someone who has anxiety that just means more time for me to worry about the exm since they won’t let me review notes once I’m in there! As far as the exam experience, well my computer froze twice and each time the proctor restarted my exam and she did it without telling me and I jumped out of my seat and asked her what she was doing and if she had just lost all my progress since I was at the simulations already, I’d be pissed and you can fill in the blanks…… Long story short they moved my to another computer and I completed my exam.

As far as the exam itself, I thought the first testlet was easy, second test let harder and the third testlet even harder so that is a good sign???? Who knows its all subjective. Now those f***ing SIMS are what will have killed me if I failed, hoping I didn’t. I had two research SIMS in which one I found word for word and the other I wasn’t so sure which sucks because idk which one is counted because one has to be a trial question right????

Anyways thanks for listening to me vent because no one understands what I’m going through other than you guys and good luck to all of you and your future exams. Time to move onto REG on Monday so tonight and this weekend will be nice and relaxing, I may not even know what to do since I’ll actually have free time!!

    AUD: (65)(66) 77
REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....
    FAR: (68) (66)(69)(71)
    BEC: (63) 75

@Monk and accty, So, how I finally tackled BEC. I used three products, Becker, Becker Review and NINJA.

Step 1: I would watch the lecture for a chapter and take notes on the stuff that seemed important to me or what was difficult for me.

Step 2: I did almost all the HW problems for that chapter and would say out loud why I thought it was the answer I chose and why the other ones were wrong.

Step 3: I went through and re-did EVERY problem that I had done (I only completed about 70% of Becker's MCQs, quality not quantity)

Step 3: I moved on to the WTB and did about an extra 100-150 MCQs to make sure I actually knew the topics and that I wasn't just memorizing Becker's questions.

Step 4: I went through everything on the Becker Final Review program and wrote down what seemed to be important.

Step 5: I condensed all the formulas that I thought were necessary (only about 20 of them) and re-wrote them about ten times.

Intermittently during this whole process I read my NINJA notes twice and re-wrote them twice. I also constantly listened to the NINJA audio, Jeff's voice was music to my ears in the morning.

The morning before my exam I just re-wrote my formula sheet once, re-did about 50 MCQs and then went in feisty and came out victorious!

I really hope that helped, if you have any other questions or want something more specific, please let me know! I hope everyone passes!!!!! Good luck!

Thanks a lot. Seems like a good balance of conceptual and technical(multiple choice questions) studying. I will do something similar for my next two exams, assuming I pass FAR. I am assuming it was a dedication thing that kept you from passing the other times? I am trying to learn from as many people as I can, because I am trying to stick with a strict timeline.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Glad to see that someone post their experience about the AUD here. @JAC, sorry to hear that you had a difficult time with your exam. Well, now it is over. You can relax and wait for your passed score now 😀

My exam is Monday Feb 24 and here I sit trying to review all the materials that needed to cover. I used GLEIM review. I just complete the exam rehearsal and my score was okay. It will be different when sitting in the testing room with lot of pressure, so I will use tomorrow to review more and to cover my weak points.

AUD is my last section as well. Can't wait for all of this to be done and hope to get good results on Tuesday. Good luck to you all

@Ardi & @StudyMonk, I just passed the BEC section as well and think that the materials covered was not too difficult. I would say that when you study, pay attention to some key points in each chapter (or module). Try to understand and remember things like: Nature, Purpose, Objective, Differences, and When and How to apply. For example, think of the differences between Payback method vs. Discounted Payback method, IRR vs NPV, etc. Understand the key points will help you get to the right answer when sitting for the exam.

Read the questions carefully. If you are unsure about the answer, try to eliminate. I did okay with my BEC so I hope this will help. Good luck

    BEC 91 (01/06/13)
    REG 91 (01/24/13)
    FAR 86 (02/10/13)
    AUD 93

    Feel so close 😀

@Monk, it was definitely about dedication. I had to study for at least three hours a day during the week and tried for at least 10 on Saturdays and Sundays. (I started studying about 3 or 4 weeks before each exam) This meant I had to drop some things that were normally on my schedule, which was hard but totally worth it now haha. But for me, if I skipped a day, sometimes that would turn in to two days which wasn't good. I'm really routine oriented, so once I figured out a routine, I started passing. Hopefully that same routine works for AUD and then I'm done. You got a nice solid score on FAR, just keep it up and I'm sure you'll do great.

Just got back from taking my exam today, I know I killed it. There were about 75 questions that I knew cold, and the rest I had to decide between two very close choices, but I still felt good about them. One of the sims was completely unexpected, but I rationalized with what I already knew to come up with a good solution. The rest of the sims were pretty straight up. Rollin to BEC now 😉

glad to hear your exam went well snuff_is_enough, wish I could have felt that way coming out of my exam….. either way now we both have to anxiously await for the the score release. Does anyone else find themselves becoming more anxious about how the exam went and how you think scored as the days go by? Could just be me haha

REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....

@ ArdiCPA: know EVERYTHING! haha j/k well kind of…. my one suggestion is read every question and each answer choice very slowly. When I went back and reviewed my testlet I noticed two questions where I wasn't answering the question correctly and those two MCQ could mean pass or fail. As far as the SIMS, you can't really prepare for them if you ask me. Both times I've taken AUD the SIMS were ridiculous and soem came out of left field and even if I was given prior notice to them I wouldn't know how to study them! Just go in confident and analyze every sentence and every word of every question, you've done the studying now apply it and always go with your gut!
