Starting to get very frustrated with this CPA thing. Over the past few years of taking exams I’ve become frustrated with the whole thing. Passed Reg, had that expire. Passed BEC, had that expire. Recently got back into studying and when I’m not working I’m living in the Becker software. I took AUD towards the end of February and received my score of a 73. Down from a 74. I’ve been studying FAR for the past two weeks with a plan to take it early May. Just looking for feedback as to how I should approach the exam. Should I set FAR aside and go back to AUD as this is still fresh in my mind or should I continue working through FAR. I’m through the first 2 chapters of FAR.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. You have what it takes since you've passed 2 exams in the past so maybe little consistency to get the whole thing knocked out at once?? If I were in your shoes, I would restudy Aud and take it early April. You're right there on the edge, focus on weak areas and hammer MCQs. Afterwards, get back on track with FAR and take it @ the end of Q2.

I took AUD five times… 73,72,74,74,88. After 4 times failure, I almost lost my passion and didn't want to study anymore. Before taking the last one, I didn't do any MCQ and just spent one week to review the book, but I got the higher score. I have heard other people had similar experience like me (failed at least 2 times). They said they were lucky to get easy SIM or MCQ, coz they even didn't study but pass. I won't say it's all because of lucky, coz we all study and review a lot already. But yes, maybe my last exam were the chapters that I am good on it.

So I would suggest you may reserve 1-2 weeks review for AUD (no matter before your FAR or after), and mainly focus on other new sections, since you were so close to pass. Between my 4th and the last one, I also took other sections.Just my opinion… Good luck 🙂
