Took audit yesterday, I felt so deflated. If I had to guess I think the testlets went Med->Med/Hard->Med/Hard. SIMS I answered with about 65-70% confidence. Not sure if I got the research sim right. Halfway through the test I felt like giving up. I didn’t recognize a decent amount of the aud questions from Ninja or anything. But I could narrow the hard ones down to 2 answers. There were a bunch I could click right away like “Duh that’s an easy one”. I walked out of the testing center so pissed! For FAR I walked out thinking I did okay and got a 76.

Going into the exam:

Ninja MCQ

Average=68%

Trending=82%

Final Practice exam: T1= 83% T2=83% T3=93% SIMS=70s 4200 question attempts.

Anyone have a similar experience? Or can possibly guess what I might get?

Honestly it sounds like you did better than you think.

It sounds like you went to Hard and stayed on Hard. So, remember, the better you're doing the worse you feel as a general rule. Hard questions are weighted so much more than normal questions that you can miss a lot more and still stay on the Hard path and still pass than if you went medium to medium to medium.

As we all know there are no guarantees with the exam but it sounds like you did better than you think you did.

Well in the 2nd and 3rd testlets there were some easy ones filtered in here and there. I have no idea though.

I would agree.. The only exam I have ever walked out of thinking that I did okay, turned out to be the worst score I have ever received. The 64 on FAR. I knew going in I was not prepared, didn't feel good about it, but ran out of time and had to take it. When I left the testing center, I thought.. Maybe there is a chance that I pulled it off. A big NOPE!

The 2nd time I took FAR, I thought it was the most brutal exam ever and I thought it would be a miracle if I passed.. SO MUCH harder than the first time I took it. I left feeling defeated and exhausted. As it turns out, I passed! 🙂

@Angelwatch it was hard to tell the difference in test difficulty. On 2 and 3 there were some very wordy ones but also easy ones that jumped out at me.

I'm not sure why people get so caught up in the difficulty of the testlets. If you go look at the difficulty ratings of the AICPA released questions the difference between hard and medium is almost indistinguishable to the average user. Whether you passed is on how well you knew the material.

tcheney I didn't know that but I agree. It was hard to tell the difference. I thought I knew the material very well. Felt like a struggle though

I wouldn't get discouraged. You could have just as easily passed. Just move on to the next section and have a few beers the night of Aug. 3 :).

@Tcohle I agree with Angelwatch. You probably did better than you think because you stayed on difficult. By the way, difficult testlets are sprinkled in with “easy” questions so it's not all difficult questions. At least that's what I read once.

@Zumo thanks for the encouragement. I think sometimes I psych myself out looking for the difficulty of questions. I guess they can't make hard testlets ALL hard questions. SIMS were very tough. Out of my hands now though.
