Just sat for Audit today (last exam). You really to have ample time on this exam. Compared with the others I felt very comfortable and was able to take my time with the MCQ’s and the Sims double checking each testlet before submitting it. The exam questions were very similar to what I had been seeing in my practice sessions. Ok, here is where things get a little weird…

    1. I got the same question TWICE, i.e. the exact same question in the first and second testlet. The only difference was that one of the answer choices was different…bizarre….

    2. This one is even weirder. One of my sims on the exam was the EXACT same question I had in my practice sims. I don’t mean similar, I mean EXACTLY the same. I had just worked my way through it a couple of nights ago. I remember it in minute detail because I was angry that I got one of the questions wrong and I disagreed with the solution provided. When I saw the sim pop up I almost fell out of my Prometric chair, I mean wtf….

The thing is, I know that Ninja, Wiley, and Becker all use released AICPA questions, but how on earth did a previously released question work it’s way back onto a CPA exam?????? Absolutely insane!!!!!…..

Surely someone over at the AICPA dropped the ball….

I sure wished that I had had that experience. I was coasting through the first testlet of MCQs and then the 2nd & 3rd testlets got a little harder. I thought I had enough time to complete my SIMs with 70 minutes but ended up running out of time on the Research and Sampling ones. I did really good on the WTB SIMs and MCQs, so it would have been delightful to get one of them. Hopefully, I did well enough to pass, but missing 2 SIMS will be a stretch. On a wing and a prayer…

2002-2003 (when it was 2 Day Test):

    FAR- 66, 63, 57*
(*on 3rd try, just tried to pass AUD & LAW while getting above 50 on these;didn't work)

    2012-Present:
    AUD - 73, 76 (expired 01/31/14), 70 (UGH)!, 86 (4/4/15 - praise God)!!

    FAR- 71, 71, 70, sat 11/24/14 - 75 PASSED!
    REG- 65, 67, 71, 66, sat 10/4/14; 75 PASSED!

I just sat for my exam on Monday and had the same experience as well. When I saw the same question pop up I was like, wtf, I thought I was losing my gd mind. But I do remember there was a change in the answer options as well.

Had 2 research questions so I'm sure one of those most have been the pretest/not scored.

    @ Koolkat,

How difficult were those SIMS on 1/20. The 2nd and 3rd SIM I found to be ridiculous. I'm really hoping I passed this time around. Both times I failed AUD were due to scoring poorly on the SIMS. Hopefully I passed this time around. On to FAR now. I have no idea how to even start preparing for that exam. I plan on starting Monday but I'll spend time Saturday and Sunday trying to figure out how I plan on studying for the exam.

    AUD: (65)(66) 77
REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....
    FAR: (68) (66)(69)(71)
    BEC: (63) 75

Seems like many of us had the same/similar exam due to the same question popping up in testlet 1 and 3 🙂

It seems like I had the same testlets (may be …may be not). Question from testlet1 repeated in 3rd testlet in a different form. That said, do you think the testlets went from Med-hard-hard? For me it did not seem like it. Trying to gauge if we all had performed at same levels and SIMS would be the differentiating factor between pass/fail.

I had only one research SIM.

Waiting until Feb 4 is challenging.

@koolcat, you may want to edit you post. Too much information.

I had a question that was the same on testlet2 and testlet3. but when i took the test, I was not sure how i did. My Sims were really tough and I did not know if I can use aud lit to search for answers besides research question which I nailed it. My Sims are gonna be make or break it.
