    I took auditing today and the mcq were so nice! Exactly what I studied but then came the simulations. Like I couldn’t find one research question and totally guessed on every document review question. Even if I killed mcq. If there anyway I passed??

    @Superdude3000 Thanks for the advice. I definitely try to approach each exam logically and focus more on understanding the underlying concepts as opposed to just memorizing the standards/principles/procedures. I noticed a lot of the mcqs/sims are rarely presented in the exact way the review materials present them, but they are similar. So as long as I know how to apply the concept in order to find the right answer to the review questions, I can probably do the same for the exam questions.

    @cleethree
    Also found the MC section for AUD to be by far the easiest compared to BEC and REG.
    Any advice for me on FAR, assuming you took it Q2? I'll have gone through ALL of the material twice by this weekend and will also take 3 mock exams (2 with Becker and 1 with Rogers) before I sit Thursday. I'm just looking for any advice for the actual exam. I feel comfortable with the material but more so worry about the time. I feel like this exam will challenge me with time more than any of the others I've taken so far.

    @Superdude3000 my advice for FAR as with all these exams is to just keep practicing the questions and sims. Since FAR has a lot to do with reporting and writing journal entries, I would keep practicing the journal entry steps from the study materials so you have good understanding how each accounting principle works.

    If you read the materials twice, you should definitely be well-rounded to answer definition type questions. And as application type questions are more prevalent in the new format, you should focus more on understanding journal entries and applying the accounting principles.

    I studied for only a 1 and a 1/2 months (from After tax season to the date of my exam May 26th) and got a 86, so I think my approach was effective enough.

    I wish you all the best and from the results I see from your other exams, I am quite sure you will pass.

    @cpa-man I'm in the exact same boat as you: took audit a week ago and am pretty sure i killed the mcq but then got 2 FAR sims and 2 research. *sigh* It's aggravating because I felt very confident of my knowledge of audit going in and then had these FAR sims from nowhere. I estimate I maybe got 1/3 to 1/2 of the sims right.

    Man, I took Audit in mid-August and felt more confident in the SIMs than the MCQ. If we didn't have the break I think I was going to have a mental breakdown. I was able to relax a little, maybe that's the only reason I felt better about them. Good luck on release day everybody.

    For those who have NOT taken FAR ….are the FAR SIMS that were on your audit exam something a candidate can handle without have taken FAR ? Seems really unfair to get FAR sims on AUD. I got 2 way back in DEC 2016 when I got a 69.

    How much time should I allocate for SIMS?

    Were the MCQs doable? wordy?
