I took auditing today and the mcq were so nice! Exactly what I studied but then came the simulations. Like I couldn’t find one research question and totally guessed on every document review question. Even if I killed mcq. If there anyway I passed??

There is always a chance, but sims is 50% of the exam. What do you think?

I only took and passed bec so far so I'm not sure. I felt mcq was almost perfect but sims were a lot from FAR and idkk. These exams are nuts

    CPA man-

what review materials did you use and how many hours did you put into studies ?

What as so difficult about the SIMS? How much time did you leave for the SIMS?

Even if you killed the MCQs , my educated guess is a candidate has to at least get at least 1/3 the points on SIMS ? but who knows with these exams….

does anyone know if you can get a “weaker” in SIMS and still pass? this goes for any part.

I thought I killed the mcqs and felt like I took educated guesses on at least half of my sims. I still did very well so I wouldn't speculate

I've always wondered about if you do weaker in SIMS could you still pass…which is hard to tell because if you passed you don't get a score breakdown report that shows your strong vs. weak areas.

I thought some states give a score breakdown if you PASS even ? I know my state does not

Texas does give a score breakdown whether or not you passed. I have PASSED exams and scored in the weaker section on SIMS (even under the new format).

I took Audit in Q2 before the exam changes and I did really really well on the MCQ and was weak on all of the sims but I only got a 73 🙁 But I felt like I didn't know one. single. sim. I guessed on all of them. If you felt like you at least answered SOME of them correctly then you might've pulled off a pass.

Definitely agree that the AUD sims were quite difficult (took exam yesterday).

@Cpa man I am also curious on the review materials you used to practice the SIMs and was the actual exam SIMs difficult because the material was never covered in your reviews materials or your were just thrown off because they did not exactly resemble the SIMs you practiced with.

I plan on taking AUD on 9/8 and want to know if the review materials I am using (Wiley) will properly prepare me or if I should look elsewhere.

    That would be very helpful.

    Thank you.

Yeah I used becker for every part and I thought the audit simulations on the review course were beyond easy compared to what I saw. The exam mcq weren't bad and resembled Becker very very well. The sims they were long and reviewing doumcents was something Becker didn't cover that well

    @cleethree
I took AUD Q2 and what made the SIMS difficult was that 50% or so was very subjective. It forced me to try and find the most logical answer but it wasn't easy since multiple choices sounded correct. I just did my best, made some educated guesses and it turned out fine. I had not seen any SIMS previous to my exam that were like the ones on my exam, but if you have a strong grasp of AUD then you should be able to get enough of the answers correct to pass. Just think logically!

Oh ok, definitely understandable why the SIMs were difficult for you. From the practice Audit SIMs I took thus far with Wiley, a few document review sims (DRS) were included. So I should be prepared for them.

I am surprised Becker does not include the same especially since DRSs are borderline guaranteed on each exam under the new format.
