    Hi Everyone,

I have my audit exam the day before thanksgiving. I am starting the last chapter in becker and will be going into the final review stage. My hw average was anywhere from 70-95%. Really want to pass audit my first try. I am not going to lie it was very tough to get through. I work for a smaller firm mainly in tax. I went on one audit engagement. However, I was still quite new and I was just told to look at last years work -__- didn’t take a lot from it. So my audit experience is limited.

I know I will have little under a week for my final review. I have the following questions for anyone who took audit:

    1. I am considering getting the becker final review. Especially if I have a limited number of days to review. To all who have did the becker final review for audit, did you find it beneficial? I have the final review for both far and reg. For far it helped me pass but for reg i fell short when i used it on my first attempt. How did you find it for audit? If it is not effective, how do you reccomend conducting an effective final review for this section?

    2. What were the chapters that you believe I should focus heavily on. I know they are all important but I want to continuously review the more heavily tested chapters.

    3. What is the number one tip that you have for passing audit on the first try? I have to admit that after far, this section was just not pleasant to study for and I don’t want to have to study for it again.
    4. Do you recommend that I memorize the standard unmodified report?

    Thanks 🙂

    Disclaimer: did not use Becker

    1) Hmm, can't you just buy NINJA MCQ? It's only $47. Since AUD was so short, like 9 chapters in Roger, I went through all the chapters and summarized all the important topics. For me, I find that Final Review is more of a process you should create yourself to ensure you fine-tune areas you're weak and reinforce areas you want to be good at. If you feel that the normal review of Becker did not benefit, maybe buying a final review course is better for you. I do believe that NINJA was very effective in allow me my first pass at it.

    2) You do not enter that the exam without knowing I/C, Audit Assertions, and SSARS.

    3) It's so funny, I'd rather study for AUD than FAR, since it was a LOT easier to remember. Knowing Audit assertions/evidence IN N OUT. Think about what SIMs are tested on the most…. but still know the bigger picture of everything (don't neglect independence stuff)

    4) Yes. Write it out twice a week before and a day before. You're golden. I would remember the Review one too.

I would say focus on everything I took it 3 times and I cannot say that the questions were always similar. The MC was always easy for me.
Study your weak points and leave yourself 2 hours for SIMS, I failed because of the SIMS both times. So make sure you know adjusting journal entries, ratios, how certain events can effect ratios. Since you pass FAR the FAR related SIMS on financial statements that may appear on your Audit exam should be much easier for you then it was for me.

I would purchase Ninja Notes and Ninja MCQ. On my 3rd attempt I supplemented Becker with Ninja Notes and Ninja MCQ in addition to Ninja Audio and I passed.
Just review everything and definitely MEMORIZE ALL OF THOSE REPORTS! you do not want to fail because you could not remember how certain things are phrased in the reports or where certain words are located in the paragraphs that happened to me on my 2nd attempt. Just review every chapter as much as you can and read the questions carefully! Audit has tricky questions.

When I got close to my exam date, I focused on the sections which were my weakest. I also did the optional MCQs for each section and all the sims since I could cover a large variety of information relatively quickly.
