Our value does not come from our skills and abilities, as good as they may be; it does not come from our GPA, our job, a promotion from that job to a better job, our success on the CPA exam, or anything of the like; but our value comes from the fact that we have a Creator who loves us, cares for us, and desires to help us navigate the rough waters of this life in a way that provides security, hope, and true, everlasting joy while we anticipate the life to come, with Him.

Understand what ratios can indicate about an entity and master Internal Control to the details and specifics. Obviously everything else needs to be studied but those are my tips.

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

I would also love advice for AUD! Any areas that are more heavily tested than others? For FAR I had a pretty good idea, but I'm totally lost when it comes to AUD. I've heard the reports are pretty heavily tested though…

@clopins – FAR is the only part I've taken as well. I'm waiting on a score, yikes! How did you feel about FAR, when you took it? SIMS? MC? After walking out? When you got your score?

@shanek327 – For FAR I was a whole mess of feelings, lol! Right after I felt like I did pretty good on the MC, however most of mine were one liner questions the entire time and were mainly conceptual, so that made me a little nervous. But I still felt like I answered most of them correctly. I think the SIMS are what hurt my score so bad. I had one monster JE sim that took forever to get through (seriously at least 10 lines in the JE). The other SIMS were topics I had studied, but were just presented/asked in a way that I was not familiar with so it threw me off a bit. I'm pretty sure I got the research and a lot of the massive JE, but the other ones were a toss up.

I kept going back and forth on how I thought I did…that wait is brutal! It was really hard for me to start studying AUD while waiting for my FAR score and now I am behind on AUD because of it. Live and learn I guess! I was so completely relieved when I saw my score, I had to double check it a few times to make sure I saw it right, lol.

How was your experience? When do you plan on taking AUD?

@clopins. Very similar experience! MC were OK at times and not so ok at times. I didn't think the level of difficulty changed much throughout the testlets. SIMS were tough. Like you said, material I studied but I never saw SIMS like the ones I got when I was studying. That made it tough, I have NO IDEA how I did. only time will tell…AUD study starts tomorrow!

I took audit at the beginning of this month. I did tons and tons of multiple choice and then during my review did some of the old ones again (refreshes your memory). If you study right you will be surprised by how much you retain. I think some of the areas you need to have mastered are the audit reports (for all different scenarios and opinions). Be ready for anything when it comes to the sims. I felt pretty good about my multiple choice, but my sims were brutal. Every test is so different there is nothing you should totally ignore. Obviously when push comes to shove there are only so many hours in a day, so you will likely not feel perfect about everything, but that is okay. I personally didn't focus on ratios much and only had one or two mcq about it but a friend of mine had at least a dozen he said. So, never know what is coming your way.

@shanek327 – Good luck on your FAR score…I'll be rooting for you on the 24th!

I'm not even through all of the audit material yet (with my exam less than 2 weeks away) so I'm getting REALLY nervous! But the stuff I have gotten through so far I seem to be doing well with so here's hoping! I really don't want to push it back until April!

@clopins. I'm learning quickly that if you know enough material well enough to ‘say' you know it well enough (actually voicing confidence), that's a good sign!

Know the assertions well. Know the difference between the types of reports (audit, review, compilation, as agreed, etc). The difference in one word can change the meaning of those reports.

Don't forget about IFRS, Govt and ethics.

Exam day is coming up on Friday…getting nervous! These suggestions are great!

Anyone with recent experience with the AUD exam want to give any last minute tips? Areas to focus on?

I'm taking AUD for the first time this Saturday. Based on what a lot of people say, I should go lights-out mode on MCQs. So I've got Ninja MCQs and Becker MCQs armed and ready for the very long nights ahead.

    Here. We. Go.
