I took Audit today. That test is a monster I don’t care what anybody says. I’ve been using Wiley, trending 90% on the material. I took about 3500 exam questions and I also read the chapters from Gleim in any of the areas I was unsure about. I felt totally prepared when I walked into the testing center today– no way I’m failing this thing a third time. But that test was HARD.

The first testlet I flagged three questions. The second and third ones were much harder. Very wordy questions. Answer choices and scenarios I’ve never encountered before. I flagged probably 5 or 6 on each of those. Then those SIMS. They truly were brutal. I got the research question, probably one or two other questions at least mostly right. Two more questions probably 60-70% right. One I don’t even remember answering and one that was completely impossible.

I guess I’m just frustrated because I feel like I should have walked away feeling like I crushed it and I just didn’t have that feeling. I’m annoyed that it wasn’t “easier” considering this is my third round with the material. Is it possible that I failed it again?!?! Anyone else feel this way and pass?

My audit retake (2nd time) is this on WED 2/01. I keep hearing this story about the AUD exam this window being brutal from many posters on here. And the SIMS being near impossible.

In order to maintain the “prestige” of the license the AICPA fails people who really deserve to pass. We are all intelligent people and put the time and effort in studying, but the AICPA is out to get us. Eventually we will pass all 4 parts but it may take like 5 years.

Back in 2009-2013 ish the CPA firms were laying off staff b/c of recession. Very few people were taking the CPA exam. The ones that actually took the exam passed as the AICPA was just handing out licenses as long as you had a few breaths in your body and could click a mouse. I know so many people that passed in that 4 year window and they are about as smart as my son who is in elementary school.

The AICPA has made this exam so much harder since 2013 because more people are taking the exam and they have to maintain this prestige. And they are going to make the exam even harder starting APRIL 1.

Just took AUD for the first time today. Tough experience, but not as bad as FAR. Honestly, I think people freak out about the SIMs. Just study the MCQs, stay relaxed, and do your best.
