Sat for audit 3 times!!!

First time I studied for 2 months and scored 72 mostly because I got SIMS that were very difficult, and not in the AL. SIMS like that are unreasonably difficult for someone with no experience in audit.

Second time I studied for additional 2 months, and I got 71, due to insane SIMS…again.

Both times my score report had me “stronger” in all areas of MCQ and weaker for SIMS.

Finally for the third time I barely studied and just opened my notes 2 days before the exam to review. Got easy SIMS which I was able to find in AL.

Scored 90…..

Exam as serious as this one should not have so much luck factor involved

AUD - 72, 71, 90
REG - 71, 74, 85

AUD sims you can easily find in AL word to word. I found the entire SIM in AL. But to do so you need to learn how to look in AL first. And this skill you learn by failing exam few times LOL.

When I took AUD, I made sure that I knew the Accounting Cycles front and back and their Assertions. I even put a lot of time in SIMS that had the Accounting Cycles and it's assertions.

The Accounting Cycles are actually what trips up CPA candidates a lot because for each accounting cycles and their assertions, a number of questions could come from it.

The next thing to focus is also on Internal Controls regarding the Accounting Cycles.

If you focus on those, you'll be fine.

AUD is so tricky due to the wording. Make sure you RTMFQ and when studying make sure you know why the other 3 choices are wrong

golfball7773 – You are absolutely correct. Some question could have 4 very similar answers but what makes them differ is due to one or a few words. So you really have to read all the answer options carefully.

@skynet – correct and hence it pisses me off because I don't know what answer to pick when I narrow it down to two choices…..

I look for keywords like “always” and “all” or “never” but sometimes it doesn't help…

^dude – I score weaker on everything except I got comparable on 1 section of the MC….but keep in mind that it is basing “weaker, comparable, stronger” on candidates that test period….. we have to focus on all topics for the retake and not just the weaker areas
