What time should one allot to each MCQ and SIM ie MCQ for each testlet =? mins and SIM=?min per question

I did about 30 seconds per mc question and the rest was for sims and researching the lit. for the sims.

FAR - 10/3/12 - 86
BEC - 11/27/12 - 70 1/14/13 - 81
AUD - 4/4/13 - 87
REG - 7/8/13 - 80

I haven't taken AUD yet but as I've progressed through the other sections, the time I have spent on multiple choice questions has significantly diminished with each passing section. I spent approximately 2:25 on BEC (72 questions), 2:15 on FAR (90 questions), and 1:20 on REG (72 questions). Given the nature of the auditing questions that are almost devoid of calculations, I'm planning on allocating a total of 2 hours to multiple choice, but that is being very conservative (I wouldn't be surprised if it were less). I'm going through questions in the Wiley book and Test Bank at a much more rapid pace.

I think that four hours is a good allotment of time for FAR and three hours is a good allotment for time for REG; personally I wouldn't be adverse to them taking a half-hour from AUD and putting it towards BEC. Actually, to demonstrate how prepared I was for BEC, I went to the exam thinking that I had 3 hours and 30 minutes, and it wasn't until the timer started that I realized it was only 3 hours! 🙂

I used around 1.5 hours for multiple choice questions and an 1 hour for sims. Reviewed the sims for 20 minutes and was out the door. I should have used some of the time left to search the al but was anxious to leave for Puerto Rico after my test. I was relieved to see my mistake didn't cost me a passing score!
