    Hello,

I just got my AUD score back, and it was 74 for the 2nd time. This was the 4th time taking the test. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. For the last two times, I was very confident.

Any tips and suggestions on the study method and word of advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I took it 6 times. It wasn't until I nailed down the SIMS during my studying that I was able to pass. Go back to studying and this time work the SIMs and read the explanation of any you got wrong. Then, go back and work the multiple choice questions you are weak in.

When you get your score report back, you'll have a better idea.

I have been on this journey off and on for over 10 years. I think it's about time that I wrap this up.

Ah man, I thought you would get it this time. You are not doing anything wrong and don't let this bring you down. This will make you stronger. I thought the most difficult part about AUD was that you had to read the question so careful because one word could change everything. You probably know this already but when you read the question make sure you know if it is for an issuer or a non-issuer. Also know if it is for a compilation, attestation, review or audit. And make sure you know where you are in the process. Do you know where your weaknesses are? A day or two before the exam take a look at the AICPA practice exam, I felt that really helped me. How do you think you did on the research question? This is your last section to pass, right?

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the word of advice. Yes, it is the last section of my CPA journey. I was going relatively strong on the other three parts, but somehow this AUD is getting into my head :(. I am dreading to go go back to studying; hate those books and my notebook at this point.

According to the AICPA score notice, I am weaker on Performing Further Procedures and Obtaining Evidence, which as the biggest portion, 30-40%. The last time I got 74, my weaker area was Ethics. This time Ethics is comparable, but the Performing Further Procedures have gone down. It looks like I paid more attention to Ethics and forgot some of the things I already studied for.

Also, I am weaker in the Simulations and comparable in Multiple Choice. I have been using Becker for tall of the sections of the CPA. And for this last part, I bought the Becker Final Review and finished it. Not sure if I should switch to different study material. Not sure if it is me who is not getting the AUD material or if the Becker simulations are not at par.

    Thank you!

@RobOh, I just realized that there is someone else who has the same username. Just to clarify, this post was the first time ever posting on this forum. Regardless, thank you for the word of advice. Fingers crossed for this time. The fifth time is the charm 😀

Hi there. You are so close with your journey. AUD is always my favorite section, passed it twice; first in 2008 (with Becker) & 2017 (with Ninja). I noticed, it helped me a lot when I read the MCQs & SIMs answers first, and then do the questions. Also, when I get the right answer on my first try, I still check it why I got the answer right. Good luck on your next try.

Did you listen to the videos that Becker offers for the simulation solutions? I found those to be helpful. Also, did you review the AICPA practice exam? Sometimes, I personally feel like it is luck of the exam as we all have our strengths and weaknesses. You absolutely need to review everything so you don't forget what you already know while also zooming in on your weaker areas. I suppose a different review wouldn't hurt, or even using Ninja as a supplement. Ninja may be what will put you over the 74 hump. AUD could be tough because it is not as black and white, it involves using some professional judgment which can be very difficult for some people. There may be more than one answer that is correct, but you need to find the best answer. Therefore, really try and understand why the correct answer is right and why the other choices are wrong. Keep studying hard and I have no doubt that you will pass.
