Sat for the Audit exam yesterday!

I am a tax accountant so this was my worst fear, but fortunately it felt 50 times easier than I expected. MC was manageable, flew through booklet one, got harder in booklet two but not awful. And what surprised me the most was how manageable the SIMs were. They were actually much easier than any SIMs I did on Wiley, and for a minute I had to ask myself if I was being punk’d, as some of them seemed too good to be true with what they asked, and seemed more like they would be on FAR vs. AUD.

Anyways, I just wanted to share the biggest thing that I think helped me with AUD was plowing through the MC and really dissecting the questions and ones I missed. I spent 2-3 days just nonstop going through Wiley’s MC test bank, and that was the biggest lifesaver, as many of the exam questions were almost similar or easier in nature.

    Good luck everyone!

I took AUD yesterday as well and I agree with you 1000%. I'm using Wiley as well and my strategy was to dive straight into the test bank at work, make a playlist of videos based on how I perform, and then go home and walk 3-4 miles with my child in the stroller and watch the videos. Very time efficient. I would be dumbfounded if I don't pass. I couldn't tell which MC or TBS were the dummies that won't count against your score. I was very scared it was too easy despite an unexpected emphasis on some lesser-known topics.

Same! Usually I have an idea if I did well or not, and this one I felt confident almost the entire way through, or at least felt I knew substantially enough that I could pass. I also couldn't tell which ones were test or not, thankfully with the SIMs there wasn't one that left me completely blank. Every SIM I could almost substantially fill out with confidence minus one or two items, so that is giving me hope. Maybe we over prepared, but I was so surprised it wasn't horrible. The test bank though did wonders and get through the MC so much quicker so I could focus on the SIMs. Keeping my fingers crossed for you next week!

Great that everyone saw the AUD was easier than expected but the issue is will curving not happen if the pass score rate is high. CPA exams scores are always full of surprises, were one thinks the exams was easy the failure rate is high but rather when a lot complain that the exams was difficult the pass rate is high. Until scores are released keep the figures cross and pray .CPA gods are listening and watching.

    Hey folks,

How many hours did you take to study for AUD ?

Anyways, I have only a week left. I test on 10/9.

Is it doable in a week's time ? Or should I push back the test for a later date.

I studied for 160 hours + the 3 practice tests and final review. So probably 190 hours total.

I am not an auditor though so it was pretty foreign to me and I had just failed FAR so I over studied.

I took AUD on 9/30 after missing the exam before with a 72…I feel like the exam went about the same as the one before tbh. Can anyone discuss how they decide whether the 2nd testlest was harder or not? I have the worst time trying to determine if the 2nd testlest was harder or not.

I have left every exam feeling like I failed. I've taken 5 exams now, passed 3, failed 1 and am waiting on another.

I really don't think there is a good way to judge. I guess if you feel like you aced it (and actually did) that would be good but…
