Lol, it’s tax preparation software by CCH. It’s what many cpa firms use as their primary software package.

Has anybody used both Prosystem and Lacerte? I've only used lacerte. I would like to know which is better.

They are similar..I've used Lacerts, Reuters, Pro Series and Pro systems fx..

By Far Pro Systems is the worst of the bunch..Lacerte I dont have a ton of experience with so cant speak volumes on..

Pro systems by intuit is BY FAR the most user friendly software.

I have, a smaller firm I worked for used Lacerte, I liked it but Prosystems seems to handle complex returns better but not as user friendly. (I haven't used Lacerte in a few years so it could have changed). I think Lacerte is less expensive too. We just moved to the cloud based CCH Access last year and I have a love/hate relationship with it. It runs a little slow but you can work from anywhere super easily.

Haha I guess “user friendly” depends on personal preference

My firm pays $24,000 for Lacerte (6 users). I've been looking at other options that will allow us to go fully paperless. Thompson Reuters has a cool scanning feature that Lacerte doesn't have. Has anyone used that?

I misspoke..I meant Pro Series is the most user friendly…Pro Systems FX Nothing is simple with that crap..I get the two confused. lol

But Pro systems is by far the worst..nothing is grouped in the same place. And you have to double check everything due to the software not carrying things over.

Pro Series and Reuters both have scan capability where you scan documents and it pulls all the info into the return form the PDF's so most of the data entry is done.

I'd say Pro Series is a good bet..they have smart vault which is a portal clients can upload directly to which carries over..

My company uses a DocIt. Its pretty intuitive and we have few issues with the system.

No they actually did a custom system for my company as we are a property management company and not a tax practice. I've been happy with system. A few kinks early on but nothing after that. We started using 12/2015.

Prosystem FX is not that user friendly. I use it from time to time mainly for recording depreciation.. I dont like it prob because I hate doing depreciation.

I am currently using Drake. I have not used any other software. Is there pros and cons between Drake vs others like Prosystem Fx, Ultra Tax, Lacerte, etc?
