I feel that many people just stop after getting their CPA license. Is there any value to get ABA (accredit business accountant) or CPA/PFS (personal financial specialist) besides more professional fee and more CPE

I just opened a small tax office and it appears many offices like mine also sell financial instruments like insurance. I am thinking maybe i should also go financial planning route (passing series 65 exam is required), should be perfect with tax planning. I am debating bewteen passing series 65 or going for PFS

I am interested in this as well. It would entirely depend on what you want to do with your career, but I would not mind obtaining a CFE license to complement my CPA. There are certainly other various industry specific non-accounting/finance licenses available too that would be valuable depending on what you want to do.

The Series 65 would probably be good for you if you want to go the financial planning route. I'm planning on looking up various job postings in the near future just to research requirements for possible future career paths.

Why would you subject yourself to more PAIN after the CPA exam. The firm I work at (public acct) most everyone has a CPA, and 2 out of like 45 people have an MBA or MST.

Relaxing, family time, get a girlfriend, hang out with friends again, gym, go to the movies, etc!

Maybe further down the road I will obtain another certification, but I'm definitely taking some time off! I refuse to live in a cave for the rest of my life! 🤓

I was looking over some of the CMA materials last weekend, and it is the exact same as FAR and BEC. I think I'm good on that lol. I also looked over a few GMAT questions, and found a decent MBA program in my area. I think that I'm leaning towards that route. I'd rather pay 20,000 for a degree, which I KNOW can be finished in two years, than to deal with the stress of another certification.

CMA, CFA LEVEL 1, GRE, LSAT and maybe Part 1 of the Actuarial exam. All in 2017

Failed P1 (acutary) as an undergrad. No where near ready but took it.

Taking the US tax court practicioners exam next year. Has a 5-10% pass rate. Makes the CPA look like grade school

Any other random certification I find as I troll the internet I'll take too.

I think the master sommelier exam has the lowest pass rate, around or under 8%. I've got another certification that wasn't hard by any means but useful in my job. I just don't get the point of playing alphabet soup after my name if it's not going to translate to career opportunities. Better ways to spend my time.

There's something called a GFOA (Government Finance Officer) certificate that I may go after next. I'm too chicken $h!t to go the open-my-own-shop route.

I'm done now that I passed the CPA exam. Being a CPA will take me where I wanna go based on my career path

Also, I live in San Diego…waaaay to much stuff to do year round out here to be stuck inside studying any more than I already have. Going to surf after work. YMMV..

I thought about the CISA or CISSP next. But I'm honestly taking a break for at least 6 months before going for them. I may do the CIA if I want to go career IA.
