    Hi all CIA candidates,

I passed all CPA exams and now applying for NJ license.

I work in Internal Audit, so am interested in taking CIA exams. Not sure yet whether I should give it a try to get CIA certificate.

So I just wanted to ask how long does it usually take to complete all CIA exams (previously 4 exams, now 3 exams) after completing CPA exams?

If all 3 exams can be done within 6~8 weeks, then I would consider taking it. Now that I have 4mo son, and I don’t want to give extra pressure on my wife, so if the study goes on more than 2 months, I wouldn’t bother taking it, as I already have completed CPA exams.

    Currently:
    CPA - Class of 2013
    ALMI (Associate, Life Management Institute)
CISA - Passed in 2011, Certified in 2014

    In Progress:
ASA (Associate of Society of Actuaries) - EXAM P (O), EXAM FM (O), EXAM MFE (X), EXAM MLC (X), EXAM C (X)

I suppose it could be done in that time frame. I am studying for part 1 now but not nearly as intensely as I did for the CPA. I gave myself just over a month to study…but I do think it could be done in less time if you were super diligent about studying.

    NYS CPA License # 113563
    CIA: Done as of 2/15/14

Training for a half marathon post studying!

    a little over a month??

I will probably give it a try at year-end, when company work slows down.

Thank you for your response. Good luck on your study!
