Life after CPA…Has anyone gone down the PFS path?

If so, are you working at a traditional accounting firm or are you with a large financial planning firm like Northwestern Mutual or Edward Jones?

What’s your day to day? Are you specialized in a particular area?

What other certificates do you hold? Are these required or “nice to have”?

Any advice or tips for new people pursuing this path?

    TIA

    Bumping this..

I am considering the PFS. I finally got the CPA in summer 2018.

I'm currently at a small firm focused on tax and tax planning as well as consulting so I'm thinking it could be good for me.

    Thoughts?

I was wondering about this one, as well. I've looked at it a couple different times. I work for a family office doing tax and various advisory services so I thought this might be helpful in my current position.

I am planning on getting the PFS. I work for a family office on the investment side, but I see the PFS as a benefit to expanding my current position at the firm. My husband is a CFP and says I should definitely take the exam to get the PFS. Just a few more courses and an exam that pales to the CPA. Might as well.
