CISA textbook questions – do I have to buy both of these two?

I saw that on https://www.isaca.org/bookstore/Pages/CISA-Exam-Resources.aspx that it offers two books, one is CISA Review Manual, 26th Edition and the other is CISA Review Questions, Answers & Explanations Manual, 11th Edition. I am wondering whether they are complement of each other or alternatives. For example, does CISA Review Manual has both the review course and questions and answers. And vise versa. Thanks.

Also, how long does it usually take to prepare for CISA exam?

    FAR - 93 (08/24/2014 - First down!)
    AUD - 91 (11/21/2014 - Second down!!)
    BEC - 90 (02/26/2015 - Third down!!!)
    REG - 94 (05/29/2015 - Touch down!!!!!)

They are definitely different. I would strongly recommend the review questions/answers one as necessary for the exam. Of everyone I know that has taken it, myself included, the review manual didn't come into play. It's quite long…and very dry. I am not suggesting that it wouldn't help, but it's a tough read. The most effective method is to do all the questions once or twice through and read all of the explanations given in the answers (right and wrong). I prepared for about 5-6 weeks and am awaiting my score from the December exam.

@chiguy4 Thanks. So are you using only the review questions/answers? If that is sufficient, I am gonna using only that too. Also, how long do you study a day for that 5-6 weeks?

I saw it on website that you have to sign up for the exam at least 2 months ahead. So you can actually sign up for the exam first and then start study for it?

I took the exam already, and yes, I only used the review questions/answers. Also, as I said, I carefully read the explanations for the right and wrong answers and took notes from those areas. I would say I averaged about two hours a day during that time. I'm not sure exactly what you meant about signing up and then studying for the exam…there is a deadline to register for the exam, which you can find on the ISACA site. They always extend it but if you know you are going to take it in June, sign up early for the discounted price.
