Just curious, did anyone else sit for the CISA exam last weekend?

How difficult is the exam and how long did it take you to prepare for it?

I also took it. Similar to the CPA, I left not really knowing how i did…at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to find out I got either well above or below 450. Dissimilar to the CPA, the questions are awfully subjective and leave you choosing the best answer amongst two or three other “correct” answers. So, in that way, perhaps it is somewhat like AUD, but I'd argue it was still much more picky than that. I am guilty of really only working through the test bank and then reading just a couple sections of the 1,100+ page book so perhaps some people had a different experience. I studied for a little over a month.

@chi Thanks for your reply. I felt the same way. Extremely subjective, and I was expecting more technical questions. One guy finished in 2 hrs, the rest of us stayed until the end. What about you?

Likewise, I was expecting to see a lot more technical questions like TCP/IP, CMM, LAN/WAN/VAN, ISDN, EDI, and other fun acronyms. But, there were just so many subjective questions that I thought it was kind of a joke…and I don't think my score would have been much different if I had prepared for two less or two additional weeks. Finished in about 2.5 hours.

Yeah I was expecting way more acronym related questions lol. I was surprised there weren't more questions from sections 4 and 5 (essentially, the “IT” portion). I really hope I pass, I don't want to take it again. I am assuming this was your first time taking it? Do you know anyone else that took it? Sorry to ramble on, I am used to being able to commiserate ha.

Haha yeah, I was looking in the techexams.net forums and it seems that people had similar feelings about the subjectivity…and you can find those same comments if you look in threads from the June and September exams. Perhaps I should have checked those out beforehand. I really only know someone who passed it last year and that's about it. All he told me was not to worry about those few topics that required calculations (like annual loss or PERT), but he did appear unsurprised when I told him that it didn't feel like the exam overall was all that technical.

yeah I've been following those forums too, not as active as this one :/. My boss passed it last year and said it was a breeze, but he has 30 years of auditing experience so…yeah. It definitely feel like the AUD exam, could go either way. Good thing the holidays will keep my mind off the score release!

Yeah, when the ISACA one opens back up tomorrow, I'm sure there will be a plethora of feelings expressed over there…and yeah, I think the wait will go pretty quickly. Somewhere, I saw that proposed release is 1/16 so we shall see.
