CISA and CISSP after CPA – Thoughts?

Anyone going this route after they complete the CPA? What made you want to do it?

All the signs are pointing toward the auditing (accounting) profession becoming highly automated progressively into the future, so since everything and everywhere will be integrated with computer systems, wouldn’t it only be logical to pursue these certifications for job security and future opportunities? (not to mention a nice bump in salary is likely)

I did the cisa after I passed the cpa exam. I passed the exam this past spring and honestly it was a joke. It's a fairly easy exam.

I decided to pursue it because I was interested in the testing of automated controls at the time. Also the company I work for paid for it.

Thanks for the response @Myredstapler…do you think it will help you in your career or add value to your resume? I am interested in it 1. Because I am interested in learning it and 2. Because much of the auditing/accounting profession will be automated by computer processes in one way or another so it seems it would only make sense to get the certification

Guess I'm curious if it would be a waste of time or not if I already have a CPA but not particularly interested in working in IT or risk assurance.

I don't the know it will help me with my career as I am not going the it audit route. Even once you pass the test there is a minimum requirement of 2 years of it audit, the other 3 years can come from most other places like external and internal audit for example. Unless u can get that experi n r I'm not sure how you would truly get certified.
