In order to be a tax accountant do you have to get your CTEC? I know CPAs , EA, are exempt from this but if you only have a bachelors degree in accounting do you need CTEC? I recently graduated and have no idea on how this works . I’m trying to get into the field of tax. Any help will be greatly appreciated .

If you plan on preparing taxes for a fee you need a licence (CTEC) in California unless you are a CPA, EA, or Tax Attorney.
