Hey everybody,
I crossed over to to private industry realm back in May after spending about 3 years in public accounting. One thing that was nice about public accounting was that they provided and tracked all of your CPE for you. Now that I’m in private industry, it’s on me to make sure I’m meeting my state’s (Pennsylvania’s) requirements.
I need 13 non-self study hours to meet my CPE requirement for the reporting period ending 12/31/2015. I’m not sure if other states have a cap on the number of self study hours you can have, but Pennsylvania only allows 40 hours of the 80 hour requirement to be self study. I did a little research and saw that Surgent offers a 16 hour webinar package for $369. That would get me the non self study hours I need, but is that expensive? Can I do better?
Going forward, I think that getting a self study/live webinar subscription package would be the best way for me to meet the annual CPE requirements. Surgent offers a package with access to all their webinars and self study courses for $749 for a year. I’m using that as a baseline. Does anybody have any recommendations on good subscription packages for a reasonable cost?
Thanks everybody!
