I’m thinking about getting my Masters in Taxation at some point after getting my CPA license, but am curious to see what you all think. I’ve looked a little into Northeastern, which has a 100% online option. Other than that, I think I’d have to move, which I’m not in a place to do right now (especially if it’s just for school). Has anyone out there gone for their masters (tax in particular) and found it to be worth it, or thought about going that route and not found it to be worth it for whatever reason? Any and all opinions/feedback welcome. Thanks in advance!

What is the salary for someone with a Masters in Tax? Just a general range

@ Boarderguy4288 I probably would go to SJSU if I lived closer. I went to their job fair 6 years ago and there was at least a dozen firms. It would be an hour and a half commute for me, and many of the firms that recruit from there are located in San Jose.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

    Is ACCSB accreditation important?

I also plan to get a Masters in Tax from Northeastern, but on-campus rather than online, once I complete the CPA exam. I want to enroll for Fall 2014 but I am not sure if I can pass all four parts prior to September with busy season starting back up in July to have the GMAT waived. What I probably will do is start Fall 2015 giving me a year or so to complete the CPA exam and possibly the EA exam if I am lucky.

@Boarderguy – do you know if SJSU has an online option? I do like the idea of less expensive tuition, as long as the quality of education is still up to par!

@boarderguy – Thanks for the info! I'm still not sure if I'm going to go for it, but it's nice to know what options are out there that fit into my “rural living” situation.

P.S. OT: By boarder do you mean skate or snow? I'm just learning to snowboard so I'm curious. 🙂

Alright guys, I'm reviving this thread to see if there are any new thoughts and/or opinions out there. I just finished up the Exam last month, I'm bored and I am starting to seriously feel out different universities. I'm shooting to enroll this fall, but it will depend on what the tuition situation looks like. Hoping for (and will apply for) as many scholarships as I can get, but every option out there will put me in the “out of state” column (I assume that still matters at the Grad level?), and the degree is by no means cheap.

So far I'm sending for information from Golden Gate, University of Denver and Villanova. Others have mentioned SNHU and Northeastern as well – if they both have online options, I'll add those to the list.

My question to you – what else is out there? Have any of you come across any other schools? The only requirements in my book are that the program is reputable and has a 100% online option – moving out of state just for school is not in the cards any time soon.

Bentley University in Boston also has a hybrid program. There were students in my class in different states logged on remotely when I did my MST.

    REG - 82
    AUD - 97
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 84
    DONE!

Awesome – thanks Greg! I'll look into that one as well.
