Go back for the MBA?

So I never thought I would give this topic much thought, but I’m giving some serious thought to going back for an MBA. I’ve reached a point in my dead end job that if I stay for another 18 months I’ll be vested in several retirement options. Part of me thinks that if I want to make the most of my time, I should use the company’s reimbursement plan to get an MBA. I already have a Bachelors in Finance and a Masters in Accounting. I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to break into management here so I was considering studying Management for the MBA (or at least something easy). Part of me thinks this is a solid plan, but the rational side of me says that a second Masters would be useless and that I should spend my time with family, playing guitar, getting in shape, or seeking board positions.

Should I try to better myself in the next 18 months or just coast it out?

kcrc – Here is my suggestion. They're Hulu Plus, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.

Skynet – That is awesome. You're certainly joking, but you have no idea how much I needed to hear that.

Apropos: do you have any strong opinions on Apple TV vs ROKU? I hear the Roku is better, but we have several iPads which could be handy.

kcrc – I do everything on my computer, so I don't know much about Apple TV or ROKU. I heard though, the new generation of ROKU is really good but I also heard a lot of good things about the Chromecast too.

Do you want to go more business or more accounting? If more business, then get the free MBA while you can just coast easy in your job and not worry as much about your work (or at least that's what it sounds like). If you want to go more pure accounting, then the MSA is probably all you need. For me, I'd be more interested in the business side, so I'd go for the MBA.

Lilla – I've already got the MSA along with a CPA and a CMA. Would the MBA be gilding the lily?
