Hello guys,
I had a question about the CPE Requirement to maintain the CPA license for anyone who uses Becker for their CPE requirements. I called the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) regarding this question, but, they were unsure. My question is regarding if Becker CPE courses count as “Verifiable CPE” per the rules of IL. We need 120 hours of CPE every 3 years. From the 120 hours, Interactive self study is 80 hours and non-interactive is 60 hours. If I buy the Becker CPE access course for 1 year, well, does this Becker CPE count towards the 80 interactive and 60 non-interactive? Don’t we need to physically go to a classroom and then that would count (not just watching Becker CPE videos solely)? That is where I am confused. I am a full-time student, so, I do not currently work. Thus, I have to use Becker to maintain my CPA license.
Becker has what they call: “On Demand” and “Live Broadcast” courses. However, no one seems to know the answer to this. The reason why I ask is because I’m about to buy the Becker CPE Course and get 1 year access, but I want to make sure I will meet the 120 hours of CPE requirements per the IL rules. I just want to make sure the Becker CPE access should ‘cover’ what the IDFPR calls as “verifiable CPE”. Has anyone here used Becker as their CPE Sponsor to maintain the CPA license? How has it been? See link below on IL Verifiable CPE rules.
Thank you so much.
