License Renewal & CPE question

    I just received a letter from the state board asking me to renew my license. The state board says I can use graduate courses as part of my CPE. Since I have been attending a master in IT this past 2 years and all the courses I took are IT related. I am wondering what course specifically can be count towards CPE.

    Additionally, is there anyone that can recommend an inexpensive CPE learning websites/channels? And how many hours does it usually take to complete 1 CPE credit?

    Thank you!

    My friend is doing an MBA program also and supposedly his classes count for 15 hours of CPE each class I believe. He is licensed in New Hampshire so not sure if your state treats it different or not. I also don't think the class type mattered in his case either.

    as long as the courses are approved for CPE the only requirement MA has is that one of the courses to renew is the ethics course. I use cpethink, its $279 for unlimited credits for two years but you can pay by the course if you only need a few credits or just the ethics.

    Thank you guys for the info!

    @trele6
    Was every class of your friend's MBA degree eligible for CPE credits? Each eligible class is worth 15 credits indeed. But since my degree is IT, which as nothing much to do with accounting, that's why I am a bit worried if any of my classes would qualify.

    I am licensed in MA also. How would I know if my classes are approved by CPE? I know on under the state board Rule 15D (https://www.mass.gov/ocabr/licensee/dpl-boards/pa/ceu/mandatory-professional-education.html) it says college courses can count, but will every course I took count? But either way, I guess I have to take ethics CPE (4 credits) separately because it is mandatory and I did not take any ethics classes.

    I emailed the state board, but they did not give me much answer. That's why I am asking over here.

    My friend is doing a duel major MBA for finance and something else, but I don't think his class workload is too heavy on accounting. He is basically not doing any outside CPE, he is only reporting his MBA classes.

    I know for my state I have to 120hrs/3 years but of those 96 have to be technical hours and the remaining can be anything really.

    Not sure if MA or NH does a breakout like this or not.

    @trele6 For MA, we require a mandatory 4 hours of ethics, and a total 80 hours every two year. How long does it take you to complete 1 credit of CPE?
