    I passed the CPA exam last year and I’m super bored. During undergrad my goal was to get my CPA and CMA Licenses. Now I’m comtemplating whether or not to pursue the CMA, CIA or CISA, since I have so much free time on my hands after passing the CPA Exam. I’m wondering if anyone is currently studying for any of these exams and is so, what prep courses are you using?

    I recommend you to get CISA to complement IT knowledge on your belt. IT has become part of day to day business significantly. IT audit knowledge will be a benefit for your future career in audit.

    I pass the CMA last September and the skills you learn are really useful working in industry the only problem is it does not have the same name recognition as the CPA.

    Correction to my post from earlier today. Please ignore my question regarding a study partner. That's a violation of rule # 6 for the Ninja forum. My apologies.

    @onmywaytoCPA Good stuff, I'm still chipping away at part 1 using HOCK with no date in mind to sit. Still trying to figure my post-CPA life out.

    Just started studying for the CMA exam. I passed the last part of the CPA exams in Nov of 2016 and I'm getting bored, soooo here I am again. Good luck everyone!

    LedgerL0ver, I got my final passing score in November 2016 as well. I'm currently signed up to take part 1 on February 26, 2018. I wish I would have signed up for the May/June testing window because I'm working for Intuit (Turbo Tax) providing tax advice and technical support part-time during tax season along with my full-time job. I didn't know that you can't pushed the CMA exams back to another testing window like the CPA exam, so now I'm stuck with attempting to pass part 1 during tax season. Are you using Gleim CMA? Or Hock? Or Wiley CMA?

    Just received my Part 2 score and it was a 460/500. So done with the CMA now. Still waiting for my final CPA score and planning to take the CAMS as my job is AML specific. Anyone took the CAMS yet?

    I might sit for them in Feb. I’ve been chipping away at the material but I don’t have the same intensity that I did with the CPA, but I already paid for the material so I might as well go through with it. The cost section in part one is way too defeating 😂, BEC isn’t even close. Also starting my MBA in Jan, should be fun times. Best of luck to you both and congrats QueenCPA for passing!

    @OnmywaytoCPA I'm using Gleim CMA. I'm only about 25 pages into the first book, but I really like how everything is set up in terms of the outline and the study quizzes/final review. Have you decided/purchased your study material yet?

    What is your full time job? I'm very interested in how you like working part time providing tax advice. This is something I considered doing part time so that I could get a little more experience with tax, since I am more of a Financial Accounting manager for nonprofit/governmental entities so taxes are my weak spot. I am quite lazy though haha- is it worth it?? You sure have your hands full. The end of February is still so far away though. Maybe it wont be as bad- besides since you've already been through the CPA exams, alot of it will be review for you!

    @QueenCPA
    Congrats on your passing score! How do you think the CMA exams are compared to the CPA exams? I'm actually really excited and confident about the CMA exams except for the essays… How intense do they have to be?

    @mtaylo24- I bet if you push through, you might surprise yourself! When did you pass your last CPA exam? Wasn't it the greatest feeling in the world? The only feeling that might have been better is when I received my certificate in the mail 🙂

    Congratulations QueenCPA! I know it feels great to have CPA and CMA exams behind you.

    LedgerLOver – Intuit invited me to work with them, because I use their tax software for my tax practice. They do recruit CPAs, attorneys, and EAs every year to work temporarily during tax season, but they require at least three years of tax experience.

    I'm using Gleim CMA. I purchased it back in March when it was on sale for 20% off. The total price was around $990. I got the access until you pass, so they just sent me the updated versions of the 2018 textbooks.

    LedgerLOver and mtaylo24, we need to stick together for the CMA exam. We can post our questions, concerns, triumphs and failures just like when we were all studying for the CPA exam. I think the three of us could use the support. There is no way I would have made it through the CPA exam without the support of this website/forum. I need that support for the CMA exam as well.

    @ledgerl0ver. I passed in Sept, so it’s all still pretty new. CMA would be cool to have, but I’m not super pressed to finish anytime soon.

    @onmywaytoCPA
    Agreed! Still casually chipping through HOCK, I feel decent about the internal control and financial reporting sections and ok about the budgeting one. Cost and the performance analysis sections are kickin my butt, but I plan to do a deeper dive this week on those. Might start getting familiar with Part 2 in December…

    @onmywaytocpa- That sounds like a great idea! I was soooo motivated to finish the CPA exams. Not so much on the CMA. I'd love the extra letters after my name, though so let's definitely try to support each other through this process! I'm working through the first section of Part 1 and I'm already quite rusty on alot of things. Although- it mayyyy have to do with the beers I'm consuming during studying as well. 🙂
