A career counselor recently told me to put the date that I expect to finish my last exam and receive my license on my resume. Is this a good idea? I mean, I feel good about passing the second time around, but I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch, so to speak. Thanks for your feedback.

You have to be careful about misleading people that you are awaiting licensure. If anything you can say you are a CPA candidate and put down the sections you have passed.

Agreed. Be specific. I put “CPA Exam passed. 4 classes to complete license requirements” on my resume.

I put sections passed along with my booked and scheduled dates of my remaining sections.

Things like expected license date are a bit of a stretch, as its based on passing sections which, well, may or may not go as planned.
