    Hi all,

I am applying to jobs, as my license is in process can’t write CPA but want to write passed all four exams. Should I include education section (included successfully passed all four exams) on top or bottom of the resume. As recruiters see resume only for 15 seconds how I can catch their eye to look at my resume. I am struggling with job search now from three months after passing my exams no potential call at all. Thanks.

@Study Monk, getting MST always worth combine with CPA will make you super qualified academically for life,,,but again jobs depend more on experience in real life,,,,, and you have to do cost benefit analysis for your masters if you think you can afford and can earn it back why not….

Monk: I would definitely get a job first, provided you can find one with good tuition reimbursement programs. Why pay for your masters when you can find somebody to do it for you?

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?

I would put something like “CPA Exam Passed, licensing in progress”

    Ninja + Wiley Test Bank: [FAR - 81] [REG - 76] [BEC - 88] [AUD - 73](doh!)

    Becker Videos: [AUD - 82]

    California CPA

If you did it in the current year I think that it will show your recent commitment to education:

Passed all four sections of the Certified Public Accountant Examination in 2014, licensing in progress.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Monk: on the last resume I sent I put “CPA (spelled out) license currently pending with state of Illinos” on a list of bullet points on my cover letter and listed the same under professional certifications on my resume.

Good luck on the job hunt!

I would love to get an employer to pay for my MST, however with me “planning” to pass my exams May to July 2014 I am going to have a lot of down time especially if I am holding out for a tax accountant position in the end of the year. It would be a disaster if I somehow don't pick up a job in taxation with just my CPA, because I am currently unemployed. I am thinking that being enrolled in a MST program will increase my chances of being picked up this upcoming recruiting season.

I am leaning towards combining teeteenounouche and (How many letters do you need) strategy by starting my program some time between May and August. That way I can have access to their recruiting fairs and hopefully snag up an employer who will float the rest of the bill. I also like the idea of getting 3 or 4 classes out of the way since the MST takes some people 5 years when working.

To be honest, the MST is not going to impress recruiters when applying for associate jobs. Without any tax or accounting experience, recruiters are going to look at you as if you were straight out of undergrad.

I think the best time to get the MST would be after a few years of real tax experience, when you've seen some of the big topics covered in your tax classes. IMHO, better course of action to take is to get any accounting job you can after you're done with your exams. Whether it's a bookkeeping job or a job as an AP / AR clerk. Any type of accounting experience will look far better than an MST (when you're starting out with no experience). Speaking from my own personal experience, it was much easier to get a public accounting job when I had a job than when I had no job.
