I am thinking of leaving a large corporate job downtown in the heart of Chicago that has their own skyscraper height building for a tiny office in the suburbs for a 25% pay increase. Should I, or should I not? The position is also a slightly higher level with more analytical aspects. It would be a move from a staff accountant role to a financial analyst.

Smaller firm: two days less for PTO, tuition reimbursement is $7,000 less (but don’t plan on going to school at this point), commute must be by car so estimating $150 a month more in gas ($1800 a year) + car depreciation of $1,000 more per year (4,742 more miles per year), tiny office with no skyline view, no in building cafeteria, no free Starbucks coffee, no free gym. Wow… now that I think about it, I might not take it lol.
