Is working for a subsidiary similar to working for the parent company in consideration to company policies, culture, etc.? Since I interviewed a less well-known subsidiary, I want to know if the place is just as great to work at as the parent F500 company. How can I find out?

    Thank all!

Is it a wholly owned subsidiary? I think the benefits, pay, etc. would be roughly the same, but could potentially be a dramatically different culture. I'm sure working at Disneyland isn't the same as working at ESPN, even though they're owned by the same company.

I currently work at a subsidiary of a large pharma company. We are wholly owned and our benefits and pay are the same as the parent company. The culture is different because they are more heavily into R&D and creating blockbuster drugs, while the company I work at deals strictly with generics. The two business models are very different.

a few years ago the company i worked for was acquired by another. we picked up the parent company's benefits, etc. the day-to-day didn't really change. they pretty much left my boss to run the compnay as he always had. but i would think that typically it is very much like working for the parent
