I worked at one of the Big 4 firms…

    – I usually worked at least 8:30am to 6:30pm, even during the “slow” times. Fridays, people were usually good about getting out at 5:30pm, though.

    – During busy season, the earliest I would get out would be about 9pm – 11pm. The latest I worked till was like 2:30am, but that only happened once or twice.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

I just started a new job in August….we are in slow season and will be until November/December and busy season lasts through May. Right now I work 7:15-3:45. I have been told that during busy season it is around 45-50 hours a week. Although I will say my manager (we are very small company, I am the accountant and my boss is the accounting manager and that is our entire department) has stated that he has worked around 75 hours a week before during busy season…..We will see how this all goes when busy season really hits though.

Just a side note for anyone jealous of my hours….I get paid peanuts! (lower than working for the state) I am here for experience and learning.

I work at a small firm. Usually work 8-5, but Spring tax season is 60+ hours a week. My OT is banked for time off or I can get paid for it at my hourly rate. A normal tax season gets me 180+ hours of OT. I can also log in and work from home.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!
