I am currently looking for a job, should I let the employer know that i need him/her to sign off my experience form during the interview ? would this be something that they would use to low ball my income if they hire me ?

    any feedback would be appreciated

just tell them “i have passed all 4 parts of the exam.” If they ask about the official license, then explain. if not, don't bring it up. if you do get the job, and when it's time for them to sign off, let them know.

It depends on the specific position you are looking for.

All resumes and cover letters should be tailored to position as described in the job duties/responsibilities listed.

At a minimum. you should only indicate on your resume and cover letter that you have passed the exam. Use CPA-Candidate, All exams passed or some variation. For your cover letter, you can state that you are pursuing licensure (if the position is one that normally is a career path for a CPA).

    Also, ask yourself –

    1) Does the position require a CPA or someone who is pursuing a CPA?

    2) Will the state recognize the experience from this position.

For an interview, I would not bring this up in the way you asked us here, you may risk putting off the interviewers. Back when I was looking in accounting/finance, an interviewer noticed that I passed the exam and they said they would inquire with Human Resources to followup if the experience was qualifying as a few positions were not audit/attest. I am in Information Technology but my accounting background has been an asset in my field FYI.

Your employer can't sign off on your experience form anyway until you have at least 1 year of work experience working at that employer under the supervision of a CPA (who is also registered in the state that you are applying your license).

And not sure why anyone would use this against you. A CPA will have to sign off on your work experience anyway, and he/she understands the process because he/she already went through it when they applied for his/her license.
