What to do when you’ve been working for a company for 5 years, same boss the whole time and then he hires someone with zero experience onto the team without an interview and the new person continuously gets opportunities that no one else in the group gets?

I wish it were easy to just “leave” but that is turning out to be much more difficult than expected with such a competitive market.

I know it may suck for you but, all in all, it doesn't sound that bad. I've heard worse on this board. I had to interview twice for my current position, same company but they make you interview for promotions or so I thought. Two ladies hired about 5-6 years after me, were both automatically given that same promotion without one single interview. They just handed to them like it was candy. At first, I was pissed but kept my cool and continued to work hard. Maintaining a level head during this time period allowed me to convince the company later on to pay all the tuition plus books for my Masters in Accounting at Rutgers and currently use work time to study for my CPA exams. Plus, the two ladies eventually left the company. Don't let stuff like this rattle. It's ok to feel upset but not to the point that it affects your work and you as a person.

I sort of know what you're going through.

My boss is really cool; however, we've recently had a change in upper leadership (above my current boss). The former leadership person was really good, but it's since declined with the new hire. There were a few items we worked REALLY HARD to change in the past (for the better). Unfortunately, the new person simply reverted those things back to how they were in the past.

Further, this person has the mentality of “i'm right and you're wrong.” You could literally show her supporting information; yet you would still be wrong and she would still be correct. It's getting to the point, where this individual basically wants us to make up numbers.

F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it
