Work abroad OR stay in U.S. but travel?

I’m looking into two opportunities at the moment:

    One is-

    1) Live abroad for 2 years in company with a fun environment with a lot of people my age, meeting people from all over the world (the country is a financial hub and attracts professionals from all over the world) in a global organization with opportunities to transfer to a different country (potentially back to U.S.) at the end of the 2-year contract.

    2) Stay in the U.S., but move to a city where you don’t know anyone, and from what people say on forums like Citydata, people are not as friendly are are flaky and oftentimes fake. The company’s department that you will be joining is very small and not as many people to meet. BUT, you will get an opportunity to travel all over the U.S. and internationally, about 50-70% of the year.

Both sound like amazing opportunities – what would you do?

    #1 #1 #1!!

IMO, the chance to live abroad is not to be missed. I wish very very much I'd done it when I did not have commitments to keep me in the US.

If you get to learn a language, so much the better. Best of luck to you!

Number 1 sounds like the better option. Moving to another country is kinda a daunting thought though but it seems like it would be a good experience.

How did you come across this opportunity to work abroad? I would definitely take that one over the latter option in a heartbeat. I work in Big Four and am still looking for opportunities to go abroad because it is something I am passionate about and have minimal commitments at home.

If you don't mind sharing, what company is this? My email address is snel0075@umn.edu if you don't mind sharing over email.
